I've bought about 15 now. Not by spending real money, because I'm not dumb, but from my gold farming.

Even though they're not as great as I thought the would be, I have gotten a few gems:

Widow VII, VIII, IX.
Paladin III.
Javelin.

Plus a lot of other weapons I don't use are near maxed. Geth Plasma Shotgun is at IX.

You realize for how much time it takes "to farm" someone could be earning a much higher level of income from a more stable career based activity, so criticizing people for unlocking stuff with cash is really a back fire.

people who are "tight" on cash like to act like they are better then us for "not spending rl money on a video game lololol" though ... they spent real money and BOUGHT the game. just because some one want to spend 10 bucks and get 8 hours worth of farming packs ... but you know 8 hours of farming packs is more productive then actually having a job and dropping a dime to just enhance your enjoyment

guess there people dont go to movies they just buy them to lol. stop judging or acting like your so much better because someone who is a casual player and has a job spend a few extra pennies .. not everyone is a full time video game pro living off mom and pops or school loans. I dont judge you because your cant spent a few bucks extra and i dont the other guy because he can.

So I'm going to guess you are one of 100,000 that did not complain about the "Day 1 DLC" that brought your game from $60 to $70, right? What do you think about them, I wonder?

I don't think you understand. It's not about being tight with money. It's about spending it reasonably. Do I have money on the side? Yes I do. I like to save it in case I have need for it. I don't go out drinking or spend it on virtual weapon packs in a videogame. If I wanted to, I would, but I don't need to. If you need to, then that's fine.

Funny how this conversation sparked up the mom and dad mooching subject. Guess you're really more sensitive about this subject than you want people to believe.

Yes. Because people DON'T spend money on random videogame packs, they live at home with their parents. Jobless. Don't do anything with their time. They just mooch. I like this stereotype. Very creative.

So much for the self entitled people who spend their money being respectful.

I bought one with microsoft points, but I played for about 3 hours straight to buy a few more with credits. So addicting!

3 rounds of Gold and I'd have enough creds for 3 packs. Got a Black Widow and a Javelin. :P

not at all buddy just tired of seeing all the self important cracks being made at others expense like they are insane and pitiful always troll OT because someone mentioned they bought a pack (which seems to as if its THEY  who are insecure or jealous)

im tired of the e bullying esp with such weaksauce ammo. as far as me being sensitve about mooching off mommy and daddy ... well i havent lived at home in .... 20 years? and i make a very comfortable living so nope not a issue for me but im not the one thats harrassing and putting down people. actually I got tired of the trolling on others and threw a little back just to show it works both ways.

nothing bugs me more the guy a makes a post saying he bought a few spec packs for 10$ and well the game crashed and didnt get anything anyone else? - followed by a half dozen generic lawlz you spent money and only a idiot spends money on video game ... etc etc and the ironic thing is WE ALL BOUGHT THE GAME lol.

that all said .. i was outraged about the sameday dlc .. ea is the king of milking every dime and this **** started at least in Dragonage 1 but at least you got something. DA2 you get outfits not even a mini expac. dlc id pay for a mini xpac but same day? greasy EA greasy.

Credit farming isn't the most viable option. Not everyone has a tight nit group of pros that can breeze through gold rounds in less the twenty minutes. No, playing with randoms is a controller shattering nightmare 50% of the time.

The packs are inexpensive, sure you can rack up a bill but buying one or more here and there ain't gonna break most banks.

Foolish spending money on frivolous things? Yeah, sure. But who doesn't? You get a little extra money one day and the next it'll be gone and you'll have nothing to show for it. Premium Spectre Packs are just as tactile.

That's why I think it's unfortunate peopel want to spend money on them. Just an opinion.

I used to think like that when I was younger but if the person thinks or does have the extra disposable income let them spend it.  Think I personally put in on both the PC/PS3 alone with the purchase of the game and all the other crap probably 400bucks total.  But hey its luxury expense that I didn't have an issue with spending money on.

None of this cash will be spent for future content. It's being used to pad 'suits' and share holder pockets. Quit being naive.

If this was a small time dev, then maybe that would be the case.

edit. people who laugh about this are more than likely the credit glitchers, which essentially boils down too....why pay cash when you can exploit every 2 mins for mad credits? No reason at all!

You people know philatelists? No, it's not some sleazy stuff - it's about collecting stamps. You know, the little things we used to stick on letters back in these days.
Every so often, when I visit the post office there is a huge queue of elderly people at the stamp counter spending LOTS of money for a postage stamp. The postal service is likely to never have to fulfil its service promise for all these small sum debentures they emit. They probably just rot away in a collector album. It's a great business - just appeal to the collector in us.
Maybe Greece should just emit some fancy looking unredeemable notes? Triple A in no time again, I'd say.

I can't believe anyone thinks the MP is good enough to spend real money on, esp since you have no guarantee of return on what you're paying for. Also can't believe that $3 or whatever is worth more than spending 20-30 minutes of time. But whatever, GS Bioware/EA, people are obviously buying it so props to them.

im pissed becasue i just spent 40 bucks on spectre packs just a few days before premiums were released. i got zilch.

then.....

i bought 2 premiums and FINALLY GOT THE CARNAFAX!!!! too bad i didnt know it gave me a 160 cooldown instead of the 200 i had with the phalanx. makes me sad, it was all really just a waste.

Do gold, buy spectre pack after every succesfull match, carnifex is mcuh better then phalanx, you just got the tier1 version.

On tier V it gives 200%

i got it leveled to 2, and also used one of my many reset powers cards and realized i can also go #)% lighter pistols too. now im at 196% cooldown. WAY better then having that danged phalanx.

next on the list is paladin. them im done. untill they release an adept with singularity, throw, and stasis.

I´m always amused by the crowd of people who tell other people what they are supposed to do with their money.

spending money on ingame content is out, playing 24/7 for an average wage of 4 dollars / hour on gold runs is in.

sure. reminds me of those happy chinese gold farmers we liked to camp in world of warcraft...

The way I look at this situation is if I'm going to spend my money on random cards, I'd better be able to use them on a motorcycle.

I could never spend money, real money that is, for any of those packs in the game. I am quite fine racking up in game credits to earn them. I am in no rush to get better weapons or use up my MS points for something like that.

1) I never said i was "tight" on cash, and i think the games list to the right does show that i am actually not "tight" on cash. I actually spend over 1000 Euro just on Videogames every 6 month, depending on how many new games are there and if there is stuff i want.

There are however things i don't do. Like MMOs, because i am not able to play every day of the week and i don't see a reason why i should pay for a full month if i am only playing on weekends.

Nor do i see a reason why i should support the companies for selling me Ingame Weapons or Skinpacks, stuff that used to be part of video games and not sold sepperately.

Far Cry 2 for example, who couldn't be bothered to include a shotgun and then sell you one as DLC.

2) I never made fun of it. The only thing i said is: It will make you eventually miserable if you suddenly have to pay for stuff you used to get for free, because thats what happened in the past 10 years and its not going to stop unless people stop playing along.

And i really can't make people stop buying stuff and there will always be those people that will spend their money on it. But certainly my problem with it isn't that i couldn't afford it, but my problem is "I don't want to afford it, because its really not necessary". It wasn't in the past, and if noone speaks up against it, and we be silent about it, it will never change and eventually they'll really make us pay 1$ to reload our virtual guns.

Though, i make no illusion that i'll be heard much more clearly than any other person, and be ignored, but then again, not saying anything at all, is even more so wrong.

Considering one guy came on here complaining about having spent almost $1000 and didn't get what he wanted, and there are millions of people that play the game at all, I'd say a lot.

Well, it is random and choosing to spend real money on it is your incentive.

It's like gambling with your money but the reward you get can't be applied back into the real world, so if you win, you're still losing.

God, how'd they do that...

Magic.

Once you get a few decent weapons and level your characters, it's not too hard to get credits, no real need to buy the pack unless you don't have time to play.
