Once you get a few decent weapons and level your characters, it's not too hard to get credits, no real need to buy the pack unless you don't have time to play.

its not that i have time to play its just fun to gamble on the packs exspally the preium spectre packs there yummy  for my leveling weapons and getting  them ready for gold

The only point I have playing this multiplayer is to get new items. I don't see a point in spending money to quickly advance this goal, since the items you get are only used for multiplayer. Since I don't have much trouble beating gold difficulty, spending 30 dollars on packs to randomly get a new sniper rifle would just take away the achievement from advancing in an RPGish game. It's like the new Diablo 3 auction house coming out, why the hell would you buy items from that when the whole point of Diablo 3 is to play to advance your character and get new gear on the way?

I appreciate the people who spend money to buy the packs, purely because microtransactions are keeping the upcoming MP add-on free (Or so BioWare says).

That said, I don't think it's wise to do so at all.

I actually like the feeling of progress... and spending money to immediately go out and get the best guns seems so pointless to me. I just unlocked the Mattock II and I felt so good when it happened. I don't just want 10 or 20 spectre packs and all the good shotties, sniper rifles, pistols, etc. I really enjoy unlocking them one by one and going out and trying them. That is the reward I get from this game... It is not from having all the best stuff right away.

This is the thread winner.

I honestly can not believe people are falling, or rather, knowingly jumping head first straight into Evil Arts' trap and spending real currency on these things. Shame on you all.

Nothing wrong with buying these packs. The money really is negligible if you have a good paying job.

I understand the fact that people who aren't currently working will probably not buy these packs. I sure wouldn't in that case. And it would probably be hard to understand why others buy them.

$20, $200, or even $2000 isn't very much to some people. 1%'ers do exist, and there are at least a couple dozen on these forums, seeing how many thousands of people post here.

I buy packs and make no apologies for it. My money, my choice. Where's the trap? Because guess what? EA is a company. Bioware is a company. I work for a company. We need to make money for the company. Keep job, buy packs, have good time, within budget - excessive spending can be...problematic.
