I would love to see some sort of barrier to entry implemented for gold difficulty. Maybe a test or gearcheck or something to mitigate the level of derptitude that many of us try to escape by running golds.

They've already implemented that, it's called voice coms and the kick button. Use your head, then the tools you've been given.

"Kicking (player name) because level 3 soldier with a Shuriken II isn't going to cut it on gold." *kick vote*

A vanguard with a falcon is one of the best classes in the game when played properly. The problem is that you need to be host for either vanguard, or the falcon to operate correctly.

Don't get me wrong, Falcon is BEAST when you add Cryo ammo to it. It's the besty best.

But not being the host 90% of the time just leads to my ass left hanging out when my enemies won't freeze due to dissapearing grenades.

I mean, I hate the falcon. I really do.
But what you're saying is just pure, epic, amazing sh*tload of f*cking crap...

You're the kind of guy who will yell insults at your teammates if they don't do exactly what you are ordering them right?

I've done that ONCE, entered a silver game, carried for 6 waves (between me and 2nd was almost 20,000 points) with INCREDIBLE LAG and even stated I have too much lag to clutch so someone else would need to if problems arise, can't remember exactly how I said it but I made it clear I wasn't reviving because the lag made it impossible to do much without constant flanking. (I was running a Human Vanguard, lag was so bad I had Nova activating DURING Biocharge.) We failed the round (and missed killing the last target) and I was pissed and yelled that "Whoever's the f***ing host should never host again" after the points screen I wished them good luck on their next game and left.

Still, extent of my rage so far has been the UK hosts (no offense) whilst I try to run Vanguard.

any hosts for me while playing vanguard, so annoying to not be able to pull off second nova or charge in time

Meh the only changes they really should make to Gold should be to make Random Enemy and Random Map mandatory and leaving a Gold game actully gets you a penalty (even down to minus credits if you got none). Would ofcourse need to fix the netcode first.

It's better than not telling people what you want them to do, then raging when non-psychics don't correctly execute the plan you were keeping all to yourself.

No, maybe ill try it though if you think it will help.

For anyone who believes that Falcon fire in any way aids in landing headshots when you have 2.5 seconds to land a power and 3 headshots (to get stealth damage bonus with Valiant on all 3) you are deluded. In the particular situation I mentioned there were 3 snipers (2 running Valiants) all being burdened by the lolboomdumptruck.

Mob movement is predictable to an extent, less so when they are hopping all over the place and reeling back from explosions every second or so. Power spam is sometimes predictable, biotics are generally slow enough to work around. Chain overloads (oh yes, overloads) and Falcon spam are quick enough and unpredictable enough however to turn headshots (up to 3 guaranteed kills per cycle) in that short period of time into misses. If the Falcon user was responsible for enough kills to make up the difference it would be acceptable...but that was not the case.

The problem here is you can reduce fire rate to secure two easy headshots per cycle reducing killrate by up to 1/3. and the Falcon still does garbage damage and results in partially damaged mobs which will just be headshotted next Infiltrator cycle. Same goes for Elites, because in this particular situation the Infiltrator will be the one killing them as Falcon damage is laughably bad on Elites. All a Falcon does is crowd control (unnecessary due to insane kill rate as a sniper) and slow mobs coming around a corner which further extends the mission time.

If you want to CC Phantoms run an Asari.

When I do White Geth as Infiltrator I can take either bottleneck on the bottom and clear my side without problems regardless of what comes down the pipe. Add a Falcontard and adjustments are necessary which reduce my kill rate. And since my kill rate is the only kill rate when a Falcontard is involved that is all that matters. this leads to longer matches and more chance and getting overrun.

Clearly this is difficult to comprehend for many of you. I urge you to reread it again...take it one word at a time and look up any you can't understand. Learning is FUN!

Tried the Falcon last night and half the time I was firing blanks (no bullet came out = no dmg) One of those guns for host only?

If he had a group of mostly sniper type (either infiltrators or other classes carrying snipers) players I might kick him as well. Gun seems more suited towards grouping with AOE such classes (Eng with chainoverload) or a meleeing Krogan (you stagger I headbutt). Not I stagger and you miss your shot...

The Falcon is a great support weapon in the proper hands.

The grenades it fires have a small, but useable, AoE and every non boss enemy hit by it will be staggered for a couple of seconds. This allows it to tie down small groups of enemies easily and in the hands of some one who knows how to use it can even be used to slow down larger groups.

Phantoms are lunch meat when targeted by this weapon.

Grenades explode when they get close enough to an enemy, not simply on a direct hit or when the timer runs out, this lets the user knock enemies out of cover by aiming just above or to the side of it so the grenades explode and cause the enemy to stand up and stagger.

Now, would I use it on an Infiltrator? Heck no. It is a heavy weight weapon that will mess with my power recharge speed bonus and I want all I can get out of that and it's damage it way to low to really take advantage of the boost from tactical cloak

Give it to a Soldier, or even a Sentinel, it gives them a method to control the battle field and make it easier for the rest of the squad to devastate the enemy. Its great for supporting a Vanguard as well. Charge, Nova, Grenade barrage on enemies that didnt go down while charge cools down.

I'm just amazed at the level of elitism in this game. Whatever happened to playing a game because it is challenging and fun in equal measures?

This is one of the reasons I won't go anywhere near Gold. Too many players remove the L from Gold in the description "This is a Gold Game. Leave the fun at the door."

Besides... Sniping on the postage sized maps in ME3 is silly. BF3 sniping is a lot more fun. Hell, COD maps are bigger and I never thought I would ever say that.

No, ME3 is a short to mid ranged combat game which means Assault Rifles should be king... but they are just too darned weak.

If you want to run a highly specialized team with a narrow window of acceptance I suggest you make more friends and run private matches.

You're ranting bc someone joined a pug group with a setup he wants to play with, and his fun did not match with your idea of a 'perfect' farm run.

Make the match private and have fun with your entrance exam delusions into your private matches. If you play pug groups, learn to adapt, use the mic and kickvote.

It seems to me you are more mad that there aren't as many people who would like to play the way you do as you would like it. I suggest you try something called open-mindedness and tolerance, goes a long way to making friends and enjoying life. The alternative to that is building your fenced garden and playing inside it with like minded people, not ranting about how everyone should go about their way to adapt to you.

I hope we get into the same game nerd.  I'll start the game with my BW 5 selected, then switch to my Falcon X and derpaderpa all over your headshots with cryo ammo.

Well I wonder how OP feels when the local engie is spamming overload with chain lightning then. They do tend to get somewhat staggered.

In other news , check load out before starting the game ? Not that hard is it ? Not like it is rocket science

Dont know if anyone else mentioned that(just read the 1st couple of posts) but the falcon with cryo ammo is pretty handy even on gold. With it u can freeze whole groups of enemies in just couple of shots and make them easy targets for snipers to shatter and freeze even more guys around them. Falcon isnt a damage dealer now, its a cc weapon best used with cryo or incendiary ammo.

Who nominates their own post for a sticky?

There's nothing noteworthy or illuminating about this post to justify the honor.

Here's an idea. Communicate with them. If it's a pug game, you have no real right to force them to do anything, but you could easily ask them to adjust to your strategy. If you're going to take advantage of the game's AI, you don't really deserve the respect of consideration if you're going to be rude on top of it. Learn to be sociable and communicate better or earn the scorn of all those without mics.

Haha. When I play with randoms I normally turn my mic off, but if  some clown is telling ME how I have to play, he's getting an earful from me.

Exactly. He's decided to open up communications, and gets what he deserves, for good or ill. The OP would probably get even more of an earful if he had the guts to communicate with the pugs he's complaining about.
