I was initially inspired by Robin Tunney (whom I adore), mostly from her role in Supernova. Mid creation I decided to make Demi Moore, but failed, so I went back to Robin Tunney's jaw/chin/cheek shape.

I never took a pic of how this transferred to ME3, because it didn't really. However I was able to remake it from scratch, with slight alterations.

Looking at these I just get the same feeling as with the ManSheps. Unless you change skin tone, the Sheps pretty much all look the same with different hair. Needs some serious work to really create anything unique and even then you tend to end up with UglyShep

hmm, i had those eyes in ME2...before the comic revealed the reaper connection...so in my head canon they are just cybernetic eyes used in the Lazarus project

I think what we end up seeing with the majority of "attractive" Sheps (male or female), Mort, is a combination of in grained examples of attractiveness in our cultures in addition to our innate mental capacity to recognize healthy genetics and other growth factors by facial features.

Those two factors push players, unconsciously, into creating what researchers have called an "average face" thus we get left with this homogenized appearance for user Sheps. I've read several articles and watched shows about this phenomenon (meaning the science of faces, perception, recognition etc). It's all very fascinating. I think the BBC has a love affair with the concept, I've seen several specials produced by them.

However this isn't to say I haven't seen some more individual Sheps (male or female). My BroShep looks reminiscent of the actor Faran Tahir (you may know him as Captain Robau in 2009's Star Trek, a villain in Iron Man or perhaps the show Warehouse 13). Whereas the majority of BroSheps I have seen look like some hair color and style variation on a G.I.Joe Duke action figure.

This is amazing, it's what should have been used for the Default FemShep instead of the butt-ugly one we get stuck with.

I think you are reading into it too much.  Character creation for mass effect is very limited.  Unless you are playing on the PC and have mods, there is what, 6 hairstyles to choose from?  5-6 lip colors, a handful of skin tones, etc.  There is only so much variety you can get when you have so little to work with.  You can't even play around with facial features much without making your character look like a mutant... unless thats what you are going for, but face it, most people want their characters to look good.

If I could, I would definitely go for a more 'interesting' look.  I would love the opportunity to hook my Shepard up with some tattoos and a nosering, for example.  More stylized armors would be nice too, and would definitely allow people to give their Shepards more personality to their appearances.

Yeah, really. Like you can pick a nose but all you can do with it is adjust the height and depth. No tweaking of the nostrils, bridge, septum, etc. One of the better character creators i've seen was in Saint's Row 2...and of course the Sims has a pretty decent creator also.

Then go ahead and use her as your default femshep and if you decide to make some alterations on her, let us know, my friend! :D

Here's mine. I used my ME2 Femshep's facecode but applied the default Femshep's complexion and changed the colour.

The facecode won't give you what you see here though, because I edited the face with Gibbed's Save Editor. If you're playing on a PC, I could share the headmorph, but you'll need to download Gibbed's editor to import that into your save.

I needed to change both her hair/eye brow colours going from blonde (ME1 > ME2) to brown and give her a new hairstyle aswell (the Lara croft one as i like to call it) i already have another Blonde femshep anyway and 1 is enough for me, don't need more identical ones then that.
