I am fighting the Archdemon now, and the stats say "46% of game completed" ?!!??!!??

I have :
"Blight Queller" award for killing >1,000 darkspawn
"Traveler" award for visiting every area in the game
"Easily Sidetracked" award for doing >75% of sidequests

So what in the h#ll does 46% mean??

How high have other people gotten?

PC version on normal

I think its a counter based on how many achievements you've unlocked, not the number of different scenarios you've tried. I've been at 78% for my entire 3rd playthrough so far, and I've been trying things differently the whole way through, but haven't unlocked any new achievements.

It's based upon achievements I believe. The more you have the higher your completion of the game.

Yeah it's probably achievments, as I have the same problem (I believe I have 40% completed and I'm just finishing the landsmeet -.- (I also have Easily Sidetracked)).

At least it gives you something to work toward :) I haven't checked my percentage yet speaking of which. Hmm

It isn't indicative of how much of the game you have seen, it's only tied into achievments.

So if I start a new game with a different main charater type, the stat should show46% when I'm still a level 1??

Weird way to keep score. I suspect that Bioware did it that way deliberately to "encourage" replay for those stubborn players who want to do it ALL.   Very sneaky, Bioware

That's the idea, yes. Its a counter of how much of the game you've experienced in a way, because it catalogues playing the game through as each of the different classes to level 20, trying out all of the different abilities, going through all Origins, playing through the game to experience each different ending to the game's sub-plots, finding all 4 alternate endings to the game so on and so forth.

Its a pretty accurate counter if you think about it, it just doesn't encompass each and every detailed little path through the game's dialogue and path, which would be a royal pain in the ass to try and do, to be honest.

There's way more than 4 endings ;) But the game only counts the way in which the main baddie dies as an ending. (yes, you can kill it in 4 different ways, not a spoiler :P)

Well yeah, but to have a counter for each potential 'grouping' of endings and events? Eeych. That counter would never go up.

Bibdy and Elanareon, can you double check your % complete and post it here, I'm trying to extrapolate total achievements available.

You both say 78% done, but one of you has 66 and the other has 69 achievements. Divide # of achievements by percentage complete should give total possible achievements, just cause I'm curious

thnx

PS

I realize there's a lag in posting any new achievements; if you know you got some new ones that haven't been posted yet, let me know

thnx

I think that certain achievements count for more than others, mrmike_1949, which could explain the disparity between those two posters.

I am pretty sure it is based on achievements unlocked, at least on the 360. I have 100% completion, and all achievements. The "extra" PC achievements probably don't count towards completion percentage.

I haven't done every sidequest, though. Slim Couldry comes to mind, as do the some of the Blackstone Irregulars sidequests.

It would seem logical that destroying the Anvil would be worth more than humping Morrigan (less fun though:P) but I'm not sure whether you're correct or not. Only way to know is to find out (from Bioware) total # of achievements

XBox only gives 56 achievements total ?? Are you sure you have 100% complete? I've seen a pc player with 69 achievements and only 78% complete

Xbox only has 50 I think. A hard-limit imposed by Microsoft. All the 360 games have to grant 1000 achievement points over, up to, 50 achievements.

What?  The total number of achivements on the PC is displayed on your achivement screen.  It's 87, if you count The Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep, or 84 if you don't.  Obviously, each achievement counts for more than 1% or some count for more than others.

The console version does offer far fewer than the PC version.  For example, they don't have the "Killed 50 Enemies with <Ability>" achievements, or the "Learned all <class or subclass> Abilities" achivements.

I am sure.  I checked it before posting.

It must be based on the achievements available, then.  I wish I had checked to see if it had gone up from Warden's Peak/Stone Prisoner.

Ah ha!! I never went to that page - it explains it all : I have 42 of 87 achievements which equals 48.27%, game shows 49% complete so they must round up.

Different achievements give different points, yes, but I have 805/1600 points which should give 50.3%

thnks for pointing me to the right page :)
