So I finally earned enough credits for a premium spectre pack after about one and a half hours of play. I exited the lobby and went into the store. Clicked purchase and got the 'please wait...' message followed by the 'one or more of your purchases has failed to process. If this error continues to appear, please contact customer support.'

My credits were still showing up, but I knew that the moment I re-started ME3 they would disappear and I would get jack all for my effort. So I thought maybe I could override the 'credits' purchase with a $$$ purchase, so that I wouldn't lose the credits. So I made a $$$ purchase of the premium spectre pack... and get the same error message.

So I thought, what the hell, and contacted EA... (transcript follows - I've fixed up the names, numbers etc)

V: Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Vikas how may I help you?

you: Hi

you: I'm currently in Mass Effect 3 (ME3)

V: Okay.

you: Using the multiplayer section

you: trying to purchase from the store

V: Okay.

you: I'm
getting the message 'One of more of your purchases failed to
process. If this error continues to appear, please contact customer
support.

you: I tried purchasing a premium spectre pack with credits 99,000

you: it didn't work and the credits weren't deducted.

you: I then tried with cash $4.95 from the PS Store

V: J, you are making the purchase from ingame store.

you: money was paid and I still didn't get the pack

you: yes

V: Clearly, we’ve upset you and I want you to know that getting to the bottom of this is just as important to me as it is to you.

you: thank you

V: Would you mind to hold for some time while I look into your issue?

you: no problem

you: here's some more info:

you: Sign-In ID: Zambayoshi Name: J Order Number: *****

you: Date Purchased: *****/*****/***** @ *****:***** PM Total Amount: $4.95

you: EP*****-BLES*****_*****-REPK*****-E***** Mass Effect *****: Premium Spectre Pack (Game Pack) $4.95

you: This is the receipt I got from Playstation Network

V: It is okay.

V: Would you mind to hold for some time while I look into this?

you: sure

V: J, Thanks for waiting, I really appreciate your patience and apologize for the delay in response.

V: I would request you to please contact Play station support once in this regard, as this purchase is retailer specific.

you: But the first time I tried to purchase with in-game credits, not through the Playstation Store, and I had the same problem

V: I could understand that and it might be some temporary issue going on.

you: this has happened before using in-game credits and when I restarted the game my credits had disappeared but I got no pack

you: I don't want to restart the game this time unless I know that my credits and my cash wont disappear for nothing

V: Okay, let me check that once again, would you mind to hold?

you: sure

V: Thanks for waiting again !!

V: I
am really sorry mate as this is a new game, we have no further updates
regarding ingame purchase right now and would request you to please
post that on our forums so that our developers could have a look at
it and help you out.

you: this issue is widely reported on the forums and the developers have said nothing.

V: I
would really appreciate your patience in this regard, and would request
you to contact us back again , so that we could offer some
assistance, you could contact us back in 24-48 hrs.

V: Meanwhile I would request you to please be updated with our forums.

you: OK, I;ll do that. Just hold on one minute...

V: Okay.

you: I just restarted
ME3 and guess what happened. As predicted, my credits
disappeared... It keeps searching for outstanding purchases and comes
up with the same error message. That means that my money is also gone. I
presume that EA gets paid by Sony for every pack sold?

V: I would request you to please contact PSN support once in this regard.

you: I'll
do that. Can I just say that while I appreciate that you are just doing
your job, this chat has not been helpful to me at all.

V: I could really understand that mate, however we have some limited access for ingame purchase.

you: Alright. I'll contact Sony and then get back to you in 24-48 hrs as suggested. Thanks.

V: Thank you for contacting EA. Is there anything else I can help you with today?

you: No thanks. Goodbye

V: Thank you for your participation in EA chat process. Have a wonderful day.Bye and take care.

So after that I restarted the game AGAIN and lo and behold my spectre pack appeared... only one though. Either the one I bought with my credits or the one I bought with my cash... I wonder if I should contact Sony and claim my money back

Update: tried another $$$ purchase of a premium spectre pack. This time my money is gone too! It kept on saying 'one or more of your transactions has failed to process...' so I restarted ME3 and no pack is there... I contacted Sony and complained to them, so I'll wait and see what happens.

They won't refund your money or your credits. My gf got me a $20 PSN card when the game came out so I tried a few pack purchases. A lot of them failed. I called Sony to get the money refunded, and they filed a refund claim. Two days later I got an email stating my refund was rejected, all sales are final. Now I refuse to use money for packs. But if you do use money, only allow one failure. Don't try to purchase anything else, even with credits. Log out of ME3 and back in, your pack should show up. With the cash store purchases the pack actually shows up and you can see the items you got upon logging back in. I think something similar happens with failed credits purchases, but because you don't get redirected to the PlayStation Store, when you log back in the items just go you your inventory without you seeing. That's just speculation though as I haven't tested it. I am going to go through all my characters and make sure there are no "NEW" items after I buy packs this week. I am sure a credit purchase will fail eventually. When it does, as long as I cleared out the "NEW" tags, if there are new items I will be able to tell as I can see if any "NEW" tags are present. Either way, I recommend only allowing one purchase failure at a time. Don't try to purchase more stuff when one fails.

Thanks for the info. I suspected that the credit purchased pack might go straight to inventory as I went from Widow VIII to Widow X with a single Widow gold card. That was after a failed credit purchased pack.

So far I have only lost the one $$$ pack, as everything other time it has shown up as you say.

So frustrating though, having to exit and restart ME3 almost every time I purchase just so the pack will show up! :pinched:

When actual money is involved, it is 100% unacceptable for this kind of error to occur. This is proof that this game was not shipped in a consumer-ready state. When you can't give a company money for a "booster pack" of virtual items properly, something is very wrong.

I agree with Mash-X-ToDieSlower's statement. Also, EA's support is useless. I was in a Silver match earlier. We finished the match and went back to the lobby. I had enough money to buy a Premium Spectre pack. I went to the Store and purchased the pack. However, it took forever to load my items on the screen to review them before continuing. When the items loaded on the screen, I got the error message that the host had left the game and a new host would be picked for the lobby. Well, I couldn't do anything to get out of that so I waited for the lobby to re-load. When the lobby reloaded, I had been deducted the 99,000 credits for the pack, but I didn't receive the items..

Just happened to me. Worked my tail off for the past hour and a half to get the necessary credits and BAM! Error message with nothing to show for it. It feels so worthless playing the multiplayer.

I just tried this and it seems accurate. 99K credits on a premium pack, nothing 'received' but somehow my Hornet went from IV to V and got an Asari Adept skin tone unlock showing as 'new'.

My advice, note what all your weapons are at before buying the pack, then when you exit and re-start ME3 do a stocktake. Even with nothing 'received' you should notice that your inventory has changed slightly (although if you have maxed all characters and all appearance unlocks I feel for you).

Try again, I got refunded for a Premium Specter pack that failed to go through.

I also purchased the Premium Spectre Pack for $2.99.  The purchase was removed from my PSN account, but failed to download.  I contacted EA Live Chat, which was totally useless, and also called and spoke with 2 different EA Support reps, and they told me that BIOWARES next patch would fix the problem, and we would all get back the lost downloads......Well I just read the latest Patch infomation, and it doesnt say anything about fixing this issue.  Lets go Bioware, you cant hide this problem, and expect people to forget about it.  Image IPB
