Hi Ecoste, first of all calm down, it is not that hard.
The first target to take down should always be the weakest. So a golem with a white nameplate.
If you're playing a warrior, what are the other members of your party? It is adviceable to control Branka with misdirection or other sorts of debuffs/skills that keep her from going berserk.
The most important thing however is, that Morrigan or your Mage should wear their running shoes.
At the beginning of the fight takt down 2 golems and after that clear all lyirum notes near Branka. After that, if you're running low on mana keep sucking at those nodes. Branka should never reach a lyrium node, otherwise she will be at 100% health again.
If you don't have Misdirection debuff, try freezing her or Pummel/Shield Bash. The latter are resisted quite often.

Focus on killing the Golems first. Take out the Yellow ones. then the White ones. Then focus on Branka. Do your best to conserve mana and Stam on the golems. Any skills such as crushing prison or Force field are great to keep branka from chewing into your group.
the nice thing about killing the golems first is that if your fast enough you can get a few friendly golems that will add more DMG to branka making the battle go faster. If you can use healing magic on the friendly golems to keep them alive longer.
Use Sunder Armor, Below the Belt, Weakness, Disorient, or any other abilities that reduce the Armor and Defense of Branka. As a Sheild Warrior she is built to have high armor and defense making your attacks glance off. For Party buffs / gear you will want to use items with +ATTACK value this will help you connect with you melee hits. and anything that has armor penetration is nice but not required.
finally if i remember correctly she is immune to stuns and vary hard to knock down. Turn off any tactics that would cause your characters to used these types of abilities on Branka. For a Mage i suggest using low mana cost DMG spells or none at all. being a Dwarf she has a chance to ignore hostile spells, i like my mage to focus on buffing / healing
Edit: forgot about the nodes. see above

Lyrium Veins regenerate your mage's health/mana. They are also used by either Branka or Cairidin against you so use them up without pause.
If you can, freeze/force field/paralyze Branka/Cairidin and deal with the lesser golems first.

I just defeated her on hard mode. Damn it was a tough fight.
Branka will only follow one person at one time, so either you force field that person, or let the person run, while letting the others hit her. Just make sure your healer go around sucking all the lyrium nodes before she does or else she will throw some crazy spells you don't see in your spell tree lol.

A suggestion for your tank: go nuts on dex. My tank (this fella with blue hair i got as profile photo) can stand forever and didnt even take that much damage from branka - in nightmare mode. Branka hits like a truck though, and practically 2-shotted shale
So Dex is the way to go, and I don't even have any points in constitution
If you find it very hard still, you could just load to before you came to the anvil, zone in, and go do something else so you get a few levels behind you.

I just soloed her on nightmare (with a DW rogue)
- first kill white golems
- then yellow ones
- they run around and use all lyrium veins (she regens from it so no use fighting here when they are around.
- Then fight her. My 140 defense rogue only needed one potion I think. Other chars would have other strats (high armor) a full party should be able to take her down. Keep her hitting your tank with high armor. try to stun/paralyze her.
Curse of mortality, the hexes that make her take more damage and miss. all that stuff. an archer and mages just pounding her with arrows and staff bolt while she's chasing an evading tank. etc etc if needed: traps, potions (rock salve), poisons.
Ser Cat is worse

This was one of the harder fights in the game for me, in part due to being forced to use the Dorf (my character is also a 2H warrior and I left Alistair at home so I could unlock chests). Of course, I don't claim to be an elite player...
I finally managed to beat it by kiting Branka until the enemy golems were down. Fortunately, she locked onto the Dorf, who was useless anyway, so I just had him run her around while I healed friendly golems and focus-fired enemy ones.
I didn't know about Lyrium nodes healing her, and I ran out of mana nodes/pots for my healer and almost ran out of healing pots, and it was still very iffy at the end.
Letting her actually hit stuff early in the fight seemed hopeless, she does crazy damage.

I agree this is a difficult boss, in part because you can't run away to a place where you can fight the enemies 1 at a time. Here is how I cleared it on Hard level, playing as human rogue.
My party was 1 tank/warrior (dwarf guy) 2 mages (healer wynne + damage mage morrigan) and myself. About level 13-15 in range. After getting nowhere I replayed the region but with health potions to spare.
The trick was to get Branka to follow Wynne the mage. If you start off by freezing one of the golims and Wynne can do a rock attack so that the golim shatters, the Branka character follows Wynne. (you can also do one of the freeze attacks on Branka first and follow an attack on her with a rock attack I believe). Because you cost her crew/Branka the greatest damage, she will follow Wynne. Run around the perimeter of the arena with Wynne, while the rest of the crew focuses 3:1 on one of the golim at a time. Keep doing this, and give your crew plenty of health potions so their health is always high in fighting the golim. Eventually the golim will all be defeated with Branka following Wynne around the circle.
Now it is just a matter of running around and hitting Branka with your arrows/mage attacks. Occasionally Branka might break to go after another character (probably your other mage) but then pummel her with the rock from Wynne and she will resume attacking Wynne, and just have Wynne lead her around in circles until eventually your arrows/magic kill Branka.

The key to this fight is to keep your golem allies alive. If you have a mage with Heal (as every mage should!) then get them to use it liberally on the them. As soon as the fight starts, attack the golems that your ally golems are fighting first, and they will be very handy for taking down the rest.

I agree - giving the basic healing spell to an extra mage does not cost much and it is a big help in keeping allies alive. E.g. Redcliffe. And the final battles, with all the suicidal silly buggers like Eamon and the First Enchanter who insist on standing still in Archi's purple inferno while not really helping much. It also gives you a fallback in case a party member gets grabbed/overwhelmed while the primary healer is incapacitated or too far away.
In the Branka/Caridin fight, the friendly golems do a good job keeping the hostile ones occupied until your cleanup squad gets around to them. I found it beneficial to lend some assistance beyond pouring all available heals into the friendly golems, especially as golems are fond of slamming and so the different rolls of the dice make themselves felt big time. Heroic Offence/Defence or Glyph of Warding help a lot, as does an opportune Cone of Cold or some other stun/immobilisation. Of course, the slamming business can be a bit of a problem with regard to the glyph.
If the mana situation gets tightish then Heroic Offence and Regeneration should be given preference (for the golems) as they are more efficient than the other spells, but situational factors may well override this rule of thumb.
Harvesting the lyrium veins is a time-consuming business, because of the animation that goes with it and all the running around. I found it easiest to have Wynne do most of it, leaving Morrigan free to concentrate on the battle.
As regards tanking Branka - since you have to take Oghren along anyway he might as well keep his wife occupied until you have time for her. If you give him good kit and keep him topped up with Heroic Defence and/or Glyph of Warding then he shouldn't need much healing, an occasional Group Heal or pull from the bottle should suffice (leaving Heal and Regeneration for the golems). He isn't bad at tanking and killing golems either, if you want to set your melee Warden on Branka right away.
On the whole it might be a good idea to put Branka on the back burner and eliminate the golems first, since she likes to complicate things when her health gets down. The white golems can be shattered reliably, so that should be the first order of business. Once you've done that the battlefield looks much friendlier already - two pairs of golems battling each other, one husband quarreling with his wife, and three of your toons free to jump into the action anywhere they like.
It isn't a difficult battle if you impose your will on the battlefield (the wiki doesn't even have a strategy page for it) but it can quickly descend into chaos if you don't. It mainly tests your ability to keep the cork in the bottle - like force-fielding a hostile golem if he killed his alotted sparring partner too quickly, stuff like that. Or hitting the Pause button known as Paralysis Explosion to put the situation on hold until you get around to dealing with it.
