Still holding on to IT, though more wary and far, far less hopeful about it. I see it as an expansion rather than a new ending so that's why I can't abandon it completely. I'm not going to get my hopes up at all but I'll wait and see til it comes out before I make any full judgement.

Agreed. I'm as disappointed now as I was when I first finished the game.

Curiously this is ... I think almost precisely what I said I expected to happen.

But who knows, maybe this will close the plotholes & provide good epilogues for all the characters.

I don't believe in this. When someone tries to to cover up holes in bad writing, while keeping the contents, all it does is adding more bad writing to the original.

Well said OP

Fine, we will only get an ending "clarification" DLC...
Fine, Bioware keeps the ending they wanted for the game.
But then why did you fill your mouth with outright lies Bioware? You said you were listening, many people were polite, passionate and really felt encouraged by it to state what they saw did not fit and how it could be fixed to get an ending proper to this great franchise, after all the effort they put to it, you again come with your "artistic integrity" argument and dismiss all these people's ideas and hopes (that you said were listening to).
You shouldn't have posted and stickied that "On the endings of ME3: Yes we are listening".This is a huge let down, i feel it only adds insult to injury, i personally feel toyed with from the very beginning of this controversy, Bioware manipulated us into trusting them and now they just give us this:
"BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise"
If your intention from the beginning was to never change the ending as so many people asked to, you should have made that clear from the get go, you should have only posted about wanting feedback for a clarification DLC you were planning to release upon seeing the fan reaction to the game's finale.
"Do we appreciate the passion and listen to the feedback delivered to us by our fans? Very much so and we are responding" after all i have seen, read and experienced, this last sentence is the big lie i have heard in a long time.
As a person i am greatly dissapointed and frustrated at your lies EA/Bioware.
As a fan i am angry at how you toyed with us EA/Bioware, after we ultimately made you what you're today.
As a consumer, i have lost my confidence in you EA/Bioware, and i will never ever spend a penny of my money in your products again.

Well said OP.

I fail to see how they can say "artistic vision" when the ending was blatantly stolen from another game. I believe that is known as plagiarism.

Well, bye bye Bioware. Hello Wasteland 2.

Ya, I don't really know what is worse. The fact that they have no intention of ever fixing their mistakes and addressing the lies they told consumers, or the fact that at this point I think so little of the company that I never really expected them too.

Well, to clarify. (The Angry One Extended Cut)

When I say "we lose", I regarded this whole thing as a fight to save BioWare.
I don't want to lose BioWare, they made games I truly loved, and one of the few companies who actually acknowledge that female gamers exist.
If this continues, then I can't support BioWare anymore, and in that regard... I have lost.

I feel insulted right now. I am an artist and not once in all my years of school did I ever get a passing grade for a piece of work that no one could figure out. The point of art is to speculate yes, but you can't have a beautiful painting of an realistic but alien world and shove stick figure on it and expect any one but people that try to pretend they 'get' art say that the sick figure was a good choice and fits perfectly into the rest of the painting.

The ending is lazy and the need for clarification proves it. So unless ME3's Clarification is IT as many believe or is the best writing they have every done, I don't think they can fix it.

So no we have not won yet...

Bioware is awesome. They heard you complaining about space magic, plotholes, and wanting closure and guess what? they are giving it to you for free dollars. :)

As usual, TAO...

I agree completely.

This is a real low point in gaming... and it clearly shows they didn't listened... they really don't care about us...

Having Shepard follow Space Hitler's commands is far more important than keeping the tone presented in the entire 3 games.

It's pretty much expected. Had we won, I wouldn't have run around giving anti-retakers the finger and laughing in their face. But I've pretty much come to expect that reaction from a lot of them. Not all, but so far the respectful ones have been few and far between.

Apparently people having legitimate reasons to complain about something (or being unhappy with something), regardless of whether or not you agree, is grounds for you to insult them profusely.

"Stop complaining. It's free!"
Many of us have stated we'd rather pay for a new ending, than keep the current one for free. This is a non-argument.

PR is often strongest when the more powerful side pretends to give in...while they in reality toss worthless scraps to the weaker side.

The Angry One wrote...

"Retakers have won, shut up already."
No, we haven't won. If this goes through then we have lost. Badly.
Some of you may gain satisfaction from this, and all I have to say to that is... I pity you. You would rather see fans driven off than have BioWare live up to it's potential greatness. You'd rather see BioWare slide into mediocrity than ever admit they're wrong. It is, simply, a shame.
We started this movement because we love and appreciate BioWare but it's becoming increasingly clear that BioWare doesn't appreciate itself.

A lot of fans believed that Bioware could keep "artistic integrity" while inside EA... we were wrong obviously.

Oh, and Angry One... you are awesome.  Very good post.  :D
