Mass Effect 3 is considered a good game. You are letting the 5-10 minute ending judge the entire game? In a game stand point its a good game. In the story stand point it is still a good story game. They are still making good games.dbt-kenny wrote...
it so sad it has come to this but THEY not giving us good games any more
The old saying go's you can do 100 things right but people always remember 1 thing you do wrong..and that ending was a BIG wrong.
to be honest...they showed to be on the wrong path earlier with DA2.. a game that already defined a different bioware... more action oriented, less RPG minded and with no real choices....
you beat me to it, but indeed. Dragon Age 2 proved VERY well that they were on the wrong track. Cop/pasting entire zones. nothing like the storyline from the original. and Mass effect 3 is no different. Because of the ending it's grealty overlooked.
but where
- is half of the dialogue? Mass effect 2 had way more interaction, both with squadmates as with people you meet along the road.
- are my choices? many time the wheel was gone in conversations, leaving me watching a cutscene instead of having a conversation.
and many more like this.
summary: they ****ed up dragon age 2 before, and apperently we didn't make a good enough statement there that they did it again with ME3
A very good statement, though I don't entirely agree. I wish there had been more interaction available instead of just listening to one scripted line of dialogue. However I still feel that Mass Effect 3 was an amazing game in spite of that.
But the ending is the one thing that ruins it all, in fact it ruins the entire trilogy for me. I tried replaying ME1 when I realized that I just didn't want to play, because I knew nothing I did would really matter. Everything I fought for, freeing the Rachni, destroying the Collector Base, keeping my squad alive through the suicide mission, none of it mattered because it all led to that same ten-minute atrocity. No matter how many people I save or leave to die, it all feels pointless knowing what looms on the horizon.
One of Mass Effect's strongest theme's has always been hope, and knowing what inevitably looms at the end takes all hope away from us. Of course, that's just one reason the ending ruined the game, but I feel it's the most important.

We have to give them a warning:
No false promises!
No Day-1-DLC's (at least when it's such an important character like Javyk)!
Respect your fans!
It's not about the ending alone anymore. No, I'm sick of so much things in this industry and EA is one of the most evil ones.

I want to say thank you guys. I know how hard it must be for some of you to stay civil with Bioware. I also know that it must be hard for the people that say we are wrong to stay just as civil.

LOL I forgot about that debacle that was rushed and stamped with the name dragon age 2..
Yup you got it the Key Word is "RUSHED UP"
it makes me wonder that instead then a good 3-4 year quality product they are now rushed by EA plan to bring cash in every 2 years

My problem with the ending is not the "sad" etc, but the plot holes and most importantly, what was promised by the BW development team. In the end, they simply transformed every decision in points which I will call investments and depending at which level you are, it will give you something a bit different. Actually a bit different might be an overstatement.. also the DLC day 1 is pretty lame, instead of charging USD 59, they are simply charging 79 for a new game AND in downloadable form as well (what an excelent margin...).
Nonetheless, I do respect the opinion of the people who enjoyed the end game and everything else. I'm just stating that I definitely won't be buying BW games in the pre order stage, I will wait for consumer opinion or/and Forbes (yes, Forbes). I have been buying every BW game since BG1, but I skipped DA2 (thanks god) and after ME3, I will be skipping others unless the user and friend's opinion tells me it is ok.
So after this end game fiasco and if the new DLC doesn't fix and give it a true ending (at the very least they have to explain the guy in N7 armor breathing at the end) they might be saying farewell to any of my future purchases since they have already kissed my pre order money goodbye.
The more I think about BW nowadays, the more I get the sense that gaming companies shouldn't be listed in any stock exchange (EA). They should stay a game development house without the hassle of having to deliver better net profits, margins every quarter. It is a huge pressure and it seems to be creating some misalignments with their customers.

No, I want a new conclusion that lives up to the game 73.33% (3,831 votes)
Yes, I always wanted an epilogue 6.2% (324 votes)
Sneaky Bioware..............Sneaky, Sneaky 20.46% (1,069 votes)
Total Votes: 5,224
good to see the majority still wants a whole new ending, and doesn't declare victory before it's due.

The tone in this thread started to become slightly aggressive, withholding your money is a voluntary act and the banners a show of hands, if others wish to continue their purchase of products from Bioware then they are satisfied customers, and that is their right as consumers.
This is 100% correct we dont attack people just becuase they like the ending please be civil to all. thank you

But perhaps that it is a case of my standards being too high. But I wanted to work at studios like bioware (was) where you could truely work at pushing the boundaries and coming up with amazing creations.
Till something changes ill stay my eyes on shooting to get into places like valve or arena net and stay a wide path away from EA.

Honestly I really don't care if Bioware even makes a new ending at this point. Don't get me wrong, I will be happy if they decide to do so. If the clarification DLC is all we get then so be it. Bioware has handled this situation so poorly that I honestly don't think they can ever reconcile me to them. So I fear that I will be permanently holding the wallet, no matter what happens.
My sentiment exactly. An honest "but we don't wanna change it" or "EA tied our hands" would have been appreciated.

Exactly. Instead of just saying that we are not changing the ending because of artistic integrity, wouldn't it have been better for them to say "We agree that the ending was not the best way that we could have ended the series. However out of respect for the authors of the endings, we will not be changing it. Rather we will release a DLC to address many of the problems that players had when viewing the ending." There, you've said the same thing but you are showing humility at the same time. I would have been much happier with that.

Doesn't matter. They are bioware. Bioware as a whole can no longer be trusted. I am fine with the entire company dying off.

I love the fact that we have a German part to our group. It would be ammazing if we got more groups in other places. An Italian, Japan, French collective would be cool. It would show Bioware that we are a united front and we are peacefully asking for a change.

We are still in our fledgeling stages, too, and we already have a German division.
Good work, Mack! (He is our German Divsions Leader)
Imagine where this will be in a week. Two weeks. A MONTH?
I wouldn't be surprised if we gain media attention. I fully intend to. I also intend on taking this all the way to a full-blown BOYCOT EA movement online.
