Even if the Extended Cut is awesome, the way they've handled things so far is horrible.
Again, good customer service means AT LEAST PRETENDING like you'll do anything for your fans.  Bioware pretty much gave us waaaay to much silence and waaaaay too much "speculation" in their PR talk.  Someone needs to tell these companies to stop using twitter to update people, its about as uncommunicative as interpretive dance.

"We're gonna help you idiots figure out this thing, but our game is still awesome pie and our sh!t really never stunk.  Guys, for real."

The free DLC will decide if I pay for any of the MP stuff so I'm guessing they release pay first.....
If so I will just not do a day one buy which would be a first

BioWare? I won't be giving EA one red cent. If EA cared about putting out excellent games from their studios, ME3 wouldn't have fallen so hard. If BioWare really believed that our contributions really mattered (as they claimed in the past), they wouldn't have phoned in an ending that disregards our choices. Neither deserve any more business if this is how they want to operate.

Part of me feels ungrateful for returning my CE even after they reacted to the backlash.

However, I only need to look at 500+ pages of constructive feedback in the "we listen" thread and god knows how much else over the past weeks to know it's the right thing to do.

Goddamnit Bioware. Would a simply apology have been too much?

If you are not going to buy Bioware products anymore, can you please leave?

We who do want to discuss other things than "OMG BIOWARE BETRAYED ME, I WILL NEVER SUPPORT THEM AGAIN"

Time to move on with your life. No offense.

If we did it would just be you and the other dozen kids who like space magic here, talking to yourselves.:?

Over the years I have purchased the following from BioWare...

Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast
Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn
Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal
Dragon Age: Origins
Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening
Dragon Age: Origins - Leliana's Song DLC
Dragon Age: Origins - The Golems of Amgarrak DLC
Dragon Age: Origins - Witch Hunt DLC
Dragon Age II
Mass Effect
Mass Effect - Bring Down the Sky DLC
Mass Effect 2 (the one that already came with a lot of the DLC)
Mass Effect 2 - Arrival DLC
Mass Effect 2 - Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC
Mass Effect 3 Pre-Order
Neverwinter Nights
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Unfortunately, ME3 will be the last dime I spend on the company (or EA) after this debacle.

I'm not boycotting BioWare. However, (I've said this previously, but I'll recap)

*I played the crap out of KotOR. Bought DLC.
*Had such a good experience with KotOR I preordered ME1 on faith. Loved it. Bought DLC. Immediately preordered DA:O and ME2.
*Loved both games, played extensively, immediately preordered DA2 and ME3.
*Played DA2. It was.... well, DA2. Finished one playthrough. Shelved it. Bought no DLC. Definitely won't preorder DA3. Will buy it at reduced price AFTER renting IF reviews from FANS are just amazing.
Played ME3. It was my favorite game of all time as I was playing it. Then I finished it. Horror. Grief. Dumbfoundment. Shelved it. Will buy no DLC. Definitely won't preorder any future ME games. Might buy at reduced price AFTER renting IF reviews from FANS (the kind who agree about the turdocity of the ending) are just amazing.

I've gone from a loyal **** to a VERY cautious consumer. Now EA, BW, Casey Hudson's ridiculous "artistic" (can't make those airquotes sarcastic enough) vision - tell me how that's better for you.

Reporting in.

I was close to saying eff it with gaming in general. But I just watched a trailer for this The Witcher 2.

Intriguing. And it seems that CDProjektRed aren't ****s.

Similar to my own thoughts.  Pretty sick of the whole industry tbh.  but might give the Witcher 2 a look.

Pre-ordered the Xbox 360 version yesterday. Looks like it should be a good game and yeah, everything I've heard from/about CDProjektRed makes me want to support them.

As for whether or not I'll buy anything from Bioware in the future, well I'm willing to giv the DLC a chance as its free but if it doesn't do what it needs to do and just tries to paper over the cracks over what must now be a rushed, lacksadasical ending which attempts to be deep and clever whilst utterly failing, then no, I won't. Simply because I'm unable to trust that a similar thing won't happen again.

Superman 64 had a better ending to me than Mass Effect 3.

...And I rage quit Superman 64 a long time ago.

I already signed this one after beating ME3. I boycotted Dragon Age after DA2, and now I will be boycotting anything Bioware since ME3.

If its just some tacked on added cutscenes then ME3 will be the last dime that Bioware ever sees from me

I've bought every Bioware game since Baldur's Gate (except the Star Wars MMO as I don't play MMOs), in collector's editions when available. I've bought all the DLCs, all the ME books, comics and soundtracks, even the mobile games and Final Hours. I've bought all of these things new, and on the day of release. In short I've thrown a bucket load of cash at Bioware over the years - that all stops today, they are not getting another penny from me.

I would've paid for an alternative ending, if it was at least decent I would've carried on buying from them in the future. But they chose to just "clarify" things, what they've clarified to me is that they take the custom and loyalty of fan's like myself for granted - that we're not worht more than a token gesture.

I was willing to forgive them before, I could understand that development was rushed - but they've had time to consider this, the fans have addressed in great detail what is wrong, but they chose to ignore that and stick to their guns. They might as well have done nothing, that would probably have been less insulting.

So yeah I'm not buying anything from them again, but I am taking the time to post on here why I'm doing so - because I hope they and other developers learn from this whole affair. I think it's too late for Bioware, they've destroyed my trust in them.

I won't spend anyone money for sure till DLC comes out. And unless they totally blow me away somehow (which I doubt). Then I will just walk away with my wallet.

Ditto.

Unless the DLC provides some sort of amazing ending, which I highly doubt, I'm done spending money on anything Mass Effect related, and I'll be very cautious about anything Bioware in the future. At least I can use the money I'll be saving on important things, like shoes.

I can't say I will never buy from EA because I like FIFA, i actually have a laugh with my friends when I play it. As for Bioware, in the words of the very Artistic Eric Cartman (SouthPark) "How would you like to suck my balls"

*This is a direct quote from a character on a very artistic show. If this offends anyone then apologies, all I can say is I am listening but will not breach my artistic integrity.

Holding the wallet here in Portland OR, USA. Not another cent, Bioware.
