THIS.

Officers:

Please limit the "Quote pyramids".  I can't make other people do likewise, but we must keep our professionalism and intelligence at the forefront of all posts in this thread.

how about you respond to either of the 3 points you could comment on. no? then don't respond at all. failure to disprove an argument or theory validates that argument/thoery until counter-prove can be given.

If you care, why are you doing this? You really think that this movement can achieve something? "You didn't listened to our reasoning (you mean, your demands, right?), you will listen to our wallets (threaths, you mean)".
That's not the way to go.

We do not make threats.

We are a group of intelligently minded people who have realized that the most direct means to gain the attention of Bioware and EA is to "vote with our wallets."

This group is a group of people who have decided to withhold hard-fought dollars in light of the mishaps and fumblings of Bioware as a whole within the last several years.

And yes, I think this movement will achieve more than anyone expects.  We have some very big plans for the future of this movement.  Those plans will only serve to draw more attention to our voices from the Gaming Community,  Bioware, and even the Media at large.

At the risk of this sounding like another argument, saying "vote with our wallets" is in no way any different to a threat. You are threatening to not buy any more products unless they change the ending.

Trying to come off as peaceful (probably due to the obvious success of the cupcake and charity scheme) doesn't change the fact that this whole "movement" is essentially an attempt to blackmail or threaten a company with the possiblity that members won't buy their products.

It's the same as a strike. Employees threaten to not work if their demands aren't met, and then if they're not, they don't work. It doesn't always mean they get what they want though.

I'm not trying to have a go, but at the end of the day, people are angry, so they're going to want to do such things. Trying to make it sound peaceful etc. doesn't really change what it is. To be fair though, if this whole thing means that Bioware/ EA does step up and change some of their ways (DLC, rushing games etc.- not that ME3 was rushed IMO.) then I don't mind it taking place. Just don't sugar coat it.

"Within the las several years"? Really?
I find very funny this particular statement. Let's see if this "movement" it's still alive and kicking when ME4 cames out.
To me is simple: if you don't like what EA or BioWare is doing, leave them alone. Don't create movements to tell how you don't care (this is caring) or don't pay (but will download free DLC).

I think this movement can't and will not achieve nothing. I admire the retakers that wanted the clarification that they will get. IT believers? Nope. You guys? Surely not.

So purchase it, it's as simple as that, I requested people to boycott MP during all this, but it was a "request"; I certainly don't blame them if they want to continue playing, sounds like they are having fun, so they are satisfied consumers.

Write to a Friend: A Letter Drive Idea

We all know that BioWare is "listening to the fans" (sarcasm) and while the letter drives to inundate BioWare with with mail is a good and positive force, how about we try yet another approach to show them how serious we are.

Let us have a letter drive aimed at friends. That's right, we all write an email or a letter to at least one friend outlining our grievences so as to both warn and educate those whom we know about the need for a new ending. Whether they play ME3 or not, the very fact that if we all write to at least one of our friends, we could potentially increase the size and visibility of the movement as well as show BioWare that they can ignore all our letters all they want, but when it starts to affect word of mouth even MORE than it does already, perhaps they will become more transparent and more willing to offer a real olive branch.

I'm not a community organizer but I hope that someone up there in the oh so nebulous cloud of people savvy enough to be heard at the top tiers of websites and other areas might listen to this as a possible way of encouraging BioWare instead of just screaming down their ears and having them hit the ignore button. They can ignore our letters all they want (they seem to be doing that already) but it would be much harder for them to ignore the real possibility of consumers warning other consumers about unkept promises, a horrible stain on the product, or artists warning other artists that if they actually enjoy and value art, this ending pukes on that idea.

I would suggest for any organizer to set a date by which to send all of these letters to a friend and then carbon copy it to a BioWare email with some snazzy slogan that lets them know what's going on.

Didnt have to tell me. If the game is good, I dont care who makes it, I love C&C for the gameplay, not the story, which is what Bioware fails at.

personally, I could read that in a way that, as soon as I disagree with someone and refuse to do something i'm 'threatening' said corporation/person/whatever, and I respectfully disagree.

A strike isn't called a peaceful protest without a reason. a threat indicates direct danger towards yourself, others or yours or theirs personal belonings. We simply state that we will no longer buy products, if Bioware/EA persists in disrespecting their fans and persists in making falls promises.

Second, I would like to respectfully disagree with your stance, but acknowledge that you have intelligence and reason.

You are a smart man. This we know. It is displayed by your logical thinking and reduction of ideas into distinct statements.

But please, keep it civil. Thank you.

Actually if you follow what I have been saying I have been dismisive but not confrontational. Those that are responding they way the are, mush like yourself, do so for one reason. So if you feel you can actual make a statement that would make me think otherwise, this is a discussion board after all as to why you feel that based on an internet char room you have validation, when if you followed the Kataku live blog feed which directly refuts what you and another two other posters have stated.

Otherwise keep the passive aggressive commentary to the minimum.

I suspect every single contributor on this forum will buy whatever BW is selling. If you really want to send a message, go do something else. Was that too obvious?

As for myself, I urge BW to end all ME development and make something new for me to spend my money on.

Respectfully, I agree Bioware has made mistakes with rushing Mass Effect 3 and the ending. However, though I understand why you would want to do this, I feel it would only make the situation worse. Less resources & increased time restraints = poorer quality content.

I think Bioware has already gotten the message that we're upset, I believe this is only rubbing salt in the wounds.

they didn't. what they did do:
- make a fake topic to let people voice their opinions, only to ignore it.
- refuse any public statements on the rage, only via backdoor politics.
- refuse to answer questions at PAX that have to do with the ending
- insulted their fans time and time again (mocking at PAX, the 'hidden message' in the upcoming MP DLC)

Personally, I'm done with Bioware. They've had hundreds op opportunities over the last months to fix this. all they needed to say was that they'd reqrite the ending but it might take several months. done.
Bioware saved, fans feel they are taken seriously, everyone happy. Instead they opted for secrecy, deceit and downright childish behaviour.

Sorry it take so long to respond,
- they didn't ignore it
-I don't recall them insulting/mocking their fans, can you support your claim? Perhaps I missed something.
-They refuse public statements and awnsering question because too many people go crazy and angry over anything.

If they said "WE'RE CHANGING THE ENDING" people will go crazy and angry with them, if they say "WE'RE NOT CHANGING THE ENDING", people will go crazy and angry with them as they did. What the heck are they supposed to do with people acting so childish?

Unless we calm down, grow up, and act mature, they  won't treat us as such.

And as for your claim for secrecy and such? I've been lurking on the forums for a while, reading the news, watching the videos like the dork I am, and I've seen no evidence of such. Again can you prove these with facts and not speculation?

Yes but in reality every time we hear about a strike it normally has a very negative impact on something (e.g. closing down public transport for a day) which does negatively affect others. A threat can be a warning of a negative action. It doesn't necessarily indicate "danger".

My point is that this whole "movement", if it was just based on the fact that you guys are unhappy with the ending then therefore are going to boycott future purchases, then fair enough. However it's not. You're threatening to do so unless BW changes the ending. That's pretty much a threat or blackmail.

I'm really tired so i'm not sure if i'm making sense but still. It all seems a bit OTT to me. Before, donating to charity and sending cupcakes were a way of drawing attention to the issue. You guys are sending BW a message, saying that you won't buy future products if they don't change the ending. That's the exact opposite of what the other "protests" stood for and in my eyes at least fulfills the view that makes me sheeplike that people are acting "entitled".

Right, so taking feedback and releasing a free extended ending isn't enough?

Seriously people need to get over it. Also, keep your money, at least there won't be as many "entitled" people whining when the next little thing that doesn't please them happens.

I love sheep like you. Bioware and certain video game sites toss out the word "entitled", and you just parrot it back. You can't think for yourself.

So jumping on to the bandwagon of raging at a developer who doesn't deliver on "promises" makes you any different?

If we were to demand changes in every such situation, Peter Molyneux would have made hundreds of DLC endings by now...

Also yes I realise my comment was slightly petty and perhaps I shouldn't have come into this thread at all; i'm just shocked that people are still raging about this and starting "movements". Seems childish at this point is all. You can't honestly expect them to change the ending.

I Expect them to giv me the ending I was promassed, I expect them to have what I did in me 1 and me 2 matter, and to have the ending of me 3 reflect this. If that means they have to  change this ending then HELL YEA!!!!
However they will not and because of that I will never give BioWare or EA one more cent of my money.  I will never EVER say anything positive about this company again unless I get the ending I was promassed OR a statement that says we are sorry. I know that I am just one person and they could care less of the fact that I have stop playing their Star Wars MMO, I know they dont care that all them SIM3 games my kid wanted for her 14 year old birth day I was going to buy her that I am now not going to, and not to mention I am seriously thinking about reformating my hard drive just to get that dam Origin program removed from my PC...

I am an extremly pissed off and jaded former BioWare fan....

I need to seriously need to stop comming to BSN because its filled with BioWare's  B*ll Sh*t and Nonsense and I am way to pissed off over a stuped video game.

No. The picture sums up my opinion of this thread and the "movement" it is trying to create. It is just as "construcivee" as any other post and I have just as much a right to post it as everyone else had the right to post their words.

I do applaud you direct and civil request that I remove it, but I will not. If there is some way you or an admin can there is nothing I can do about it.
