If I may just introduce some thoughts into this post.

I think we need to begin using smart force and tactics instead of a blanket approach. For example, EA is the current holder of bioware, what we should be doing is putting pressure on them as well as bioware to help change the endings, if that is the goal of this movement.

Another suggestion is selective boycotting, show them that their are things they can do to satisfy us. Fighting for bioware to change things is going to be a long process and a war of attrition, what we need to do is focus on punishing bioware for bad content while rewarding it for good content. If we see a dlc and it's something the fans want, tell them so, tell them that the dlc thought is noted and appreciated but not what this movement wants.

If we do this and continue enforcing ourselves in having a friendly rhetoric, than that's going to take us a lot further than just a blanket response and a confrontation attitude. As another note of importance, making sure those who carry the hold the wallet banner behave themselves here is also important. If we make sure our members act nicely, than others will not be so quick to attack us or to label us as being just another movement in the crowd, people like positivity, and if we hold to that than we will see a rise in support.

I can say this with all emotion involved:

I am very glad to have made you an officer.  Your voice of reason is exemplary.

I am making a suggestions tab in the discussions section.  I would really like you to present these ideas in that tab.  Excellent work.

Thank you for the compliment, I'll be ready to post when you need me.=]

I would suggest drawing attention to the issue via "protests" such as using charities or sending cupcakes, not threatening to not buy future products. That's all im saying.

I wasn't saying that you shouldn't be allowed to blackmail them though, I was just pointing out that it is blackmail. No sugar coating please.

You suggest doing things that do not, and have not worked?  Then label constructive capitalism as blackmail?  You can't really be serious, can you?

Just to be clear. I am not Boycotting Bioware because of the ME 3 endings.

Even though we were IMO deliberately lied to, That isn't enought to make me leave Bioware.

But their treatment of their loyal fans who just wanted to talk this thing out has been nothing short of reprehensible.

(with a few notable exceptions)

And I don't mean the mods locking threads, most of the time they have good reasons to do so and this is BW's site so they can do what they want. Or even Bioware choosing to uphold their original endings.

I'm talking about, lying to fans just weeks before release,
I'm talking about deliberately ignoring fans complaints for a month hoping things would die down,
I'm talking about asking us to talk, but refusing to talk back,
I'm talking about telling us you were listening, when clearly they weren't going to EVER take into account any of the things we said,
I'm talking about releasing statement after statement full of PR talk and empty of answers,
I'm talking about telling us the game must be good, because it has over 70 perfect scores, in a statement that is supposed to be addressing our serious concerns about the game,
I'm talking about constantly and deliberately probing us for weakness, then backtracking when the response hits,
I'm talking about finally releasing the information we've waited a month for and then refusing to answer questions about it,
I'm talking about denying your fans a chance to (re)build bridges between us because it wasn't on your terms (cupcakes),
I'm talking about refusing to defend your fans when major news outlets demean and bully them, (you can easily release a statement saying that you don't agree with us, but you love our passion and see nothing wrong with our dedication, and they fact that you chose not to says A LOT), fans have defended Bioware for years, you could have returned the favor,
I'm talking about giving a damn about me for once, when I spent years giving a damn about you.

And that's why I can't buy your games anymore BW.

I just went to e.b games and the manager told me that E.A/BIOWARE are recalling all copies of ME3. I asked him why and he said poor sales etc. So I googled it and found this interesting article. Make of it what you will:)

We can use this, but first I need to make sure it is a real statement.  Thank you.

EDIT:  On further review, what you posted is not factual.  It will not be included in our group and we want nothing to do with it.

Thank you.

Wow. I just remembered that guy who leaked the Resurgence dlc. He said BW intentionally half-assed the ending so they can have time to prepare the real ending as a dlc. I wonder, is EA recalling the current copies because they're going to add the real endings onto the disc?

The article is seemingly a fake.  They claim the Bioware Employee they talk with is called "Michael Hunt".

Oh really, I wonder what gave it away

“We’ve heard all the complaints, and after a lot of debating, we’ve
finally decided to recall all copies of the game and replace them with a
new version with a new ending.
Sadly, we couldn’t put it in as DLC due
to coding issues, but we will be rewriting the entire end sequence, and
put out a bunch of new, superior endings.”

I had to chuckle, that might have done well April 1st.

Good movement. That's certainly what I'll be doing until they win my trust again. And by that I mean a decent ending. And no "explanation" counts.

Beautifully put! I agree with what you said completely. I would never have left Bioware just because of the endings. Yes they were bad but I could have easily seen it as just a mistake and moved on. No, there disregard for the fanbase that made them into a massive company with several bestselling series is what destroyed things for me.

Thanks for pointing that out Mastermadskills (the Micheal hunt part) god I feel like one of Bart Simpsons victims.

Anyways is there a way to verify whether or not there is any truth in what the E.B games manager told me?. I also notice when I was at the store there was not one ME3 game on the shelves (that's what started the conversation.).

Who knows.  We will have to wait and see.

And what you did was an honest mistake.  I am aware of this.  No problems.

I went to Walmart and Gamestop and they each had a 3 by 5 chunck of shelf space that was nothing but ME3s (brand new).

I want to thank the people that were being civil in their posts today. I know its not easy to remain civil, but you gus did. So thank you.

I would like anyone that has a complaint of Trolling or uncivilized retorts to let me know. You can send it to me in the email along will the persons name, and I will pass it on to the Bioware crew. I'll let them decide what to do, and i'll let you know when i send it to them and if they contact me about it.

To think I wanted an N7 hoodie...

My money can go to developers that don't half-ass things. Even if it's not BioWare's fault, I'm not going to pay for a half-assed product out of pity.

I would like to share a quote or two with my fellow members to help boost moral.

"When you fight, you run the risk of losing. If you never fight, then you always lose."

"A line in the sand can be crushed by waves. A line in the dirt can be scattered by winds. The line in our hearts and minds can never be torn away."

"Live without pretending, Love without depending, Listen without defending, Speak without offending"

Join in on our fight,
Help make the wrongs right,
We will speak with our wallets,
Through day and through night!

We will raise our voice,
"We won't buy, IT'S OUR CHOICE!"
We will vote with our wallets
When we win, we'll rejoice!

Ea disregards reason,
So NOW is the season,
To pick up the banner,
To fight Bioware's treason

We are sick of the lies,
Our group's on the rise,
We will MAKE EA LISTEN,
BETTER GAMES ARE THE PRIZE!

Some ask:  Can you win?
Yes, we very well might!
But only if YOU come and join in the fight

If EA changes in fright,
Your products buy?... WE JUST MIGHT
But we will ONLY do THAT,
If your endings aren't SH!TE!

First off, I want to apologize to Mastermadskills and everyone, in advance, for now posting a picture (but I do it to clarify ...edit  Oh ok , I'll post a link to the pic instead).

Darth Spike wrote...Like Shepard says "I'm a soldier". I'll be on the front lines with my friends, fighting the good fight. I'm not gonna let the Krogan's have all the fun.

I also think that 'oldSwede' could start up the Swedish (with)hold the wallet movement. If she wants, if not then maybe she can find someone who does.

If anyone needs me, follow the explosions.

Oh, that is a very, very good idea.
Although, I am so sorry to have to let you down. I physically am not able to do that (since I can only be online now and then - not everyday, and sometimes several months in-between)

I do not even know of a Swedish Bioware forums (see pic). I, as other Swedes, use the English forums.

link to pic that we Swedes get when we go to social.bioware.com

Also, I am so new to this board, I wouldn't even know how - BUT, if I bump into another Swede, who knows how it works et cetera, I will ask if they'd like to help. (I have no friends or family, nieces/nephews included, who plays Mass Effect, and also, they will not do that now, since I told them, right away after my ME3-playthrough, not to buy it. I do have it, if they'd like to try)

So, unfortunately, it's a no go with me. I'm sorry. It's a very good idea though. :)
