Hahaha, my thought exactly! :innocent:

Did you see my long, long edit after?

Ah, I'll just post it here ;-)

Thank you for the tips Blazerer! I love TES (and I fell in love with Tomb Raider, too, although it's just action) and Mass Effect, those are the only ones that have really caught me.

I'm not very good at knowing games (I am hopelssly bad at playing e.g. GTA4 and Assasins Creed (my 12 y/o niece had to help me through the tutorial in that onel!! that says alot about me, and Call of Duty et cetera  LOL but ok, I wouldn't mind trying again), although I am  picky as well.

I didn't like Bioshock - just tried it a little -- should probably try again. And Halo 3, I understood NOTHING! hahaha

And I want it to be good subtitles, like in ME1 - I don't see that happening though - and I want to be able to play as a female, which according to wikipedia, many times, when I check games there, they aren't always accurate (of course, I can't blame them - just would love to know more games).

When I do a search now, for RPG-games - it narrows it down to Dragon Age (I think it was called) and Kingdoms of Ama...something ---- Bioware and EA-games, I believe - so it leaves me to....nothing :'-(

edit: Well, of course, I still have Skyrim, which I have spent many, many hours on as well. :-)

I atually did see it xD partially because I felt sad my post ended up that the end of the page ;.; took quite a whole to type, anyway...

I thought about adding assasin's creed to the list but the lore part and open world has already been covered by TES, even though AC is actually genuine history (mostly)

As for RPGs with female characters...
Kingdoms of Amalur is actually a grindfest from beginning to end (unfortunatly I know)

Never played Bioshock, can't help you there.

The game you were looking for was Dragon Age, where Bioware style, part 1 was amazing yet part 2...not even slightly to put it nicely.

Now I can't speak out of experience but apparently the Fallout games are quite nice also. Same as ME RPG with guns and the likes, bit more focused on combat as far as I could tell. Perhaps check out a few vids and reviews and see what you think of it.

Welcome to all the new members of the movement! We are truly glad you are here and support the cause. Not only does this help yourself, this will also help the entire gaming industry progress.

As for the above, I disagree. An AAA title CAN be art, it's however very rare to see since AAA usually equals a game backed by a gigantic corporation with a broad audience as target. Sadly, art does not often equal a broad audience.

Furthermore games, because they are games,  are often viewed as not being art. but why not?

Look at games like:
- Amnesia with excelent voice acting and great suspense. a truly immersive environment
- Journey and Limbo. no conversations, simply being there, wandering and exploring.
- Elder Scrolls games. A truly free world, extreme detail for lore and conversations (just take a look at the number of book titles in the games. many of these books have at least 20 pages or more)
- Braid. At first glance a simple puzzle game but with a hidden, much deeper meaning.
- The Mass Effect series, even though the end ruined the replayability of the series, that does not change the fact that I got teary-eyed on quite a few ocassions.

I could continue for a while with this list but for my point this should do. There are already games out there that surpass simple entertainment purposes, and the Mass Effect series had the possibilty to not only expand on that list, but expand on what we define as 'games'

Games have the ability to broaden our perspective, to make us rethink current issues and problems, to make us feel emotionally conected to the characters and the struggles they are facing. Games can and will be one day, recognized as art. It is up to us to make that happen

I'll quote this one now (since it ended up so late in on the other page) but I'm replying to your post above, on this page. ;-)

--- I have to edit! VERY WELL said there, Blazerer!

Yes, that's the thing, it's EA and Bioware. I downloaded the Demo of both... and felt I could probably enjoy both, but more Kingdoms of... yeah well "the name" than Dragon Age --- but, since I'm so strict with HTW (even before I met you guys) I refused to purchase From Ashes, when I saw it, althoguh I wanted it.
I saw it after I had bought and played ME3. So I'm making life hard for myself now. LOL

Oh and I did try Fallout 3, since I knew I wouldn't have to learn the controller all over again (it takes time for me to do that) but I have tried it again, recetntly, and didn't really feel for it (I'll try again though --- I felt it was a lot of slow, slow running, w/o anything happening, At least in Oblivion, I could speed myself up with magic LOL)

I haven't treid the other Fallout (Vegas...?) though. It's not Bethesda is it? I'll wiki that. ;-)

@ animallover11, see ya' later. Have a good day! :)

Bethasoft if memory serves. A combination of Bethesda with some other companies. also, magic all the way! (even though I'm always a lame sneak/marksman/heavy armour/archery combo xD OP much?) I do am a Dumner, love their history and culture especially in Morrowind (where I started playing Dumner ^^)

@ animal, have a good day. just came back myself :P

i highly doubt they would make such a shirt anyway.  boiware hates marauder shields due to fan reaction.  i must have this shirt.

 Wow! Thanks - again Blazerer!
I used to always end up as a Breton, but then again, I started off with Oblivion, so I wasn't (to begin with) at all aware of the story. Now I am, and I agree. The whole story is amazing, to me, just like I had imagined in my own little dreams about Mass Effect -- since I hadn't followed up that it would only be a trilogy. I love history and the codex in Mass effect made me believe it would continue , since it was so incredibly much work behind it, the history and everything about it. I really, really miss ME. :'-(

I won't spam more, for now (blushing). People need to be able to read, like your post above. I made it clickable so it goes straight to your post on the other page, if anyone would like to quote you. :-)

Edit:  dezpinato!
So true, so true. My mother was just here and I showed here the video on youtube and the picture, where it says "He died trying to save us from the ending. Honor his sacrifice."She laughed, and we talked about what an amazing game it really was/is. It's fun, talking with her about ME. She asked, of course, what they will do now, and I told her about the DLc in the "summer sometime" (so we'll just have to wait and see, I don't want just a video w/explanation, I said. I want to play - and she agreed) :-)

then buy the games used.  that way ea makes no money off of the purchase.  you can do as you feel, but i choose not to support them with my money till things change.

Yeah, I'm going to have a look around. Is that Kindom-thingie new btw? But I'm sure I can find one 2nd hand anyway (it usually pops up games quite soon after someone has played it through even though they are almost the same price sometimes, but that doesn't matter in this case for me. I usually go to a Swedish auction site, too, so... ;-)
I'm getting my "pay check" (disabled) next week, so that's good. :-)

I edited my last post, laughed at your reply. :-D

You know what I'd like to see for a new ending? Some Reapers revolting against their leader/creator, be that the AI child or whomever, and joining Shepard in this battle :) And yeah, some great battle against Harbinger or some other super Reaper like the human Reaper (now, that was creepy).

Eh, it'd be contradictory to the reaper plot itself, so it makes sense for them to operate on a hive mind.  That said, Harbinger being the hive mind itself would have made more sense that that stupid kid.

Well, I was thinking about a revolt involving a bunch of Reapers who had just been recently indoctrinated,
because they would still have some will left inside to
break free :) And they would be led by Samara's daughter as a Banshee :) And: the longer it takes you to get to the ending, the fewer Reapers would be able to join your cause, which would end up in your war assets. There :) Can you imagine fighting Harbinger alongside Banshees and indoctrinated Rachni (I forget what they are exactly called)? Ha! I'd love that.

Get better oh captain my captain.
We'll hold the fort in the mean time.

PS: Normally I would jump on after work, but I am being abducted and taken to my brother-in-law's concert. So.... earliest I can actaully be back is around..... 0000 hours, possibly 0100.  Not sure.  Also might not be the best idea, since my family wants to get me to drink while there.

Also, good job everybody.  Lets stick together and make our voices heard.  Its up to each and every one of you!

In the darkest hours before the dawn
When all seems lost and forever gone
Look to your brothers and hear the cry
Oorah Oorah Semper Fi!

Hold the wallet, hold the line.

Yep, I got hooked on Bioware games with Baldur's Gate (1 TOTSC, 2, TOB), played through and like Neverwinter Nights (All expansions, even though they changed their minds about importing Baldur's Gate characters into the game, they told us this up front before we purchased the game), Jade Empire (the main reason I bought an Xbox), Kotor 1, Mass Effect 1 (all dlc), 2 (all dlc), and 3 (collectors edition), Dragon Age 1 (all DLC) and 2 (all DLC I see peoples point about 2 being "dumbed down" but still enjoy it). Bioware has been one of my favorite publishers of RPGs in that time but I really don't feel I can spend anymore money with them anymore.
