By stubbornly refusing to buy their games, Bioware now has even less reason to listen to your demands. They'll simply continue to make games you don't like, by making games aimed at demographics you are not a part of.
While I cannot speak for everyone, there are only a few games types that I dont actually play.
I even play board games, pen and paper table top rpgs, and table top war games. I am a Gamer.
Bioware has spent years building a relationship. I have been very cautious about where I get games from, and who I give money to for their products. ME3 was the first game that I specifically used the term, "Shut up and take my money". I used those exact words in a conversation. I didn't even do that with swtor. After gaining access to the beta, I reserved my collectors edition. Yes, the one hundered and fifty dollar collectors edition. I can say that I have purchased a very limited amount of collectors editions in my lifetime. Each one was to support something that I liked.
One of my friends use a very good analogy recently.
"Normally I would be against something like the 'retake' or your 'hold the wallet' movements. But you know what? Mass Effect is different. Bioware has publically said that the fans are helping to shape things just as much as the developers. They have said that they rely on this feedback. Garus romance, fans wanted so they delivered. Tali romance, ditto. Cerberus was unimportant in the first game, a foot note. They expanded to become completely woven into the main plot because the fans liked them. To now say, 'The fans have no right to complain, because they havent helped build this' is not only wrong, but betrays a deep trust between the developer/publisher and the consumer."
The ending is the capstone to a story. It doesnt have to be perfect. Hell, it doesnt even have to be happy. But it needs to work.
