So your gonna clarify and personalize the endings. Thats nice and all..but seriously...why is this neccecary?
And I don't mean that in a "why would you feel the need to do this" way, I mean in a "Why did you not ALWAYS do this?" way?
Was there a meeting where it was decided that after investing time and money into 3 games, player would just really be itching to get a generic impersonal conclusion?
So why exactly weren't the endings "more personalized" to begin with?

Ran out of time. Slapped on the same ending for everyone. Would lose face if admitted this. "Artistic integrity."

Because this company is too proud to admit it was wrong.
And it has cost them, via the insane amount of bad press, bizarre sales practices (Amazon giving refunds is like a snowball hitting Satan in the face in hell), a fractured fanbase and the clearest deconstructions of why this ending failed on every conceivable level.
