And yes, OP, I'll be first in line. Some people need to take meds and calm the F down.

Agreed. Give it a year and all this will have boiled over. Give it until the next Mass Effect or equivalent Bioware title comes out and I bet the self-same people who swore they'd never buy another Bioware game again, will be doing just that.

There'll be some who stick by the guns, I'm sure, and good for them. But there's nothing shorter than the memory of the consumer.

No thanks. The direction they are heading in isn't for me.

The fact of the matter is that BioWare no longer creates games that I enjoy. I didn't finish DA2, and I played through ME3 simply because I cared about the characters and wanted to see what happens. Right now I'm most looking forward to the Double Fine Adventure and Wasteland 2, because I'm tired of being jerked around by major publishers.

I really hope your right OP, because the main concern I have with the ending is that it makes me want to forget the ME universe.

If I found my self physically able to play another ME game, that would be my problem solved. I just seriously doubt that's going to happen.

I think your crystal ball is broken, OP.

Don't project your lack of integrity on to me.  I vote with my wallet, not OOO SHINY.  I apparently can't trust Bioware products to perform as advertised; oh well, no king rules forever.  Time to see what next great storytelling developer comes along.  Wonder what the Bastion guys are up to...

edit: for clarity i am agreeing with what i quote, and my comments are directed at the OP.

No, and you won't see me in line to buy DA3 either and you won't see me buying any mass effect dlc either. This is not a punishment, this is not a "boycott". This is me genuinely not giving a crap about mass effect any more, which I didn't think would ever be possible. This is me not believing a word that Bioware says any more and waiting possibly a full month before purchasing any of their games and only after significant research.

Anyone who says they will never buy a EA/Bioware product again are lying. The will come back. They always come back.

Look we all love us some Mass Effect.

We wouldn't be here on a Bioware forum complaining if we didn't.

I'm seeing tons of people saying, "That's it!", "Never again Bioware!", "Vote with your money not your mouth" etc. etc.

The thing is.... I predict by the time the next Mass Effect game is out a good portion of this anger will have faded. It will never go away, but it will fade, and that is a fact.

I know people still talk about how crappy Dragon Age 2 was. ( I hated it BTW) but the venom has faded to some degree. But people are still going to buy DA3 because we're hoping for good escapism. Bioware provides that.

When ever the next ME game comes out, it will be a topseller, and score rave reviews all over again.

People won't forget about this ending dillema, it's now perminantly etched on the history of gaming....but this franchise is still way too lucrative and too amazing for us fans to let go.

Sad, but this post is true as a generalization. Sadder still is that this company--and all companies--know it. It's basic marketing. They'll lose many people, but it'll a small number overall. I will say that this will force their marketing people to reconsider some strategies for the next releases, and that's about all the "victory" you'll get.

look we all love mass effect which is why we had faith untill today, but thats it, they have completely ruined all faith/trust in what they once were. we will not be in line with you, we will now buy any more bioware as believe it or not some of us are as stubborn as they are over there endings. 5 years of nothing over which is now a worthless series. u stand in line by yourself

Of course it'll get rave reviews. Just like the next COD, BF, Halo, Fallout, and TES game. It's not like reviews reflect on the quality of a game and haven't for sometime (if ever)

No dude. This is not about being vindictive, or making a statement. It about BW ruining the magic of Mass Effect with lame half assed writing.

You wont see me in line for ME3, Just as you wont for DA3 (cos DA2 tanked).

Bioware are going to need to prove themselves again.

True. Making a statement to EA is nice, but it isn't why I won't buy new from them again. It's because my enthusiasm for the series is ruined. I have no desire to spend money on ever-shrinking DLC release and new games when I have too many other hobbies and things to spend money on anyway. I played ME games for the interactive story, and that's been trashed.

Never going to give Bioware another dime of my money. Ever. Won't be in line. Will actively dissuade those I know from purchasing.

NOPE.
It's all just a blatant "Oh look we have our own 'Halo' Now!" game.

Seriously that's my "conspriacy theory" on this. They only made a "cliffhanger ending" (lol what cliffhanger? everyone died!) just so they can compete with 343's Halo 4.
