I'll still see most of you in line waiting to buy the next Mass Effect game.

Secondly, I love the snarky smug, and in your face comments, what a lovely community in the end.
I think DA3 should be the first test.
Oh BioWare sales WILL suffer greatly from this I have no doubt. Sadly for BioWare, EA's vision doesn't go beyond the next fiscal period so they have no clue yet.

Look we all love us some Mass Effect.
We wouldn't be here on a Bioware forum complaining if we didn't.
I'm seeing tons of people saying, "That's it!", "Never again Bioware!", "Vote with your money not your mouth" etc. etc.
The thing is.... I predict by the time the next Mass Effect game is out a good portion of this anger will have faded. It will never go away, but it will fade, and that is a fact.
I know people still talk about how crappy Dragon Age 2 was. ( I hated it BTW) but the venom has faded to some degree. But people are still going to buy DA3 because we're hoping for good escapism. Bioware provides that.
When ever the next ME game comes out, it will be a topseller, and score rave reviews all over again.
People won't forget about this ending dillema, it's now perminantly etched on the history of gaming....but this franchise is still way too lucrative and too amazing for us fans to let go.
If you want to be a cow to be milked then go ahead, but I am a human being, and I only put up with so much nonsense until I say "Enough is Enough!" <_<

I won't buy any Bioware games in the future. The only way I'll even think about buying DA3, a new ME game, or anything else will be when fan reviews come out. Even then, it's a slim chance.
Pre-ordered their last two games, and was met with disappointment. Sorry, but never again.

I agree there will be blowback from this. But if the talent of the company is as good as they think they are (and I thought they wre for 99.9% of this ENTIRE series) I suppose we'll see won't we?

DA2 was strike one, ME3 is strike two, there won't be strike tree no more pre-orders from me.
I will vote with my wallet.

Mass Effect is one of my most favorite game series...
But unless the extended cut DLC this summer is actually going to set some things right
I will not buy any further DLC or Mass Effect games.
Or they will have to be of the quality I expected the ME3 ending to be.
At this moment, it is unlikely I will touch the previous games again though, no matter how good they were, because I'll know that in the end it doesn't mean anything.
An ending can ruin or make a story/game for me, and this had most definetly done just that.
I respect Bioware for their work on this game series a lot, but i'm highly doubtfull an extended explanation of its current ending is going to undo the plotholes or give us the varried endings we asked for.
Not to mention the emotional damage.
Getting to know a certain cast of characters and investing in them only to see them all die or recieve a fate such as the one in the ending of ME3 regardless of my actions... I don't want that to happen to me again.

It's just logical thinking now. If they revive sheppard and continue his story in any form, i'll give you a very vague "maybe".
If they say this is it and start a whole new story with different heroes there is no possible way i will ever be goated into buying that. I will not let myself get attached to a whole new cast. One emotional breakdown is enough per developer.

The ending of Mass Effect 3, and the insuing PR ****storm didn't have any affect on that decision. I just knew that EA would want to keep pumping out games with the Mass Effect label because it would make money on brand recognition alone. And the quality of the games would suffer greatly because of it.

Of course you will.
Most of these "GBCWers" won't have the stones to stay away.
Although I have disagreed almost 99% with your posts, on this one I have to agree fully. The people who are only angry at Mass Effect 3? Meh, give them a year or two before their convictions start to wane and are pining for another entry in the franchise.
For people like myself, however, the issue is far deeper than simply ME3. There were the issues with DA2, the rapid fizzle of (and problems with) The Old Republic, and now Mass Effect 3. I compare these three games to the company that gave us Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR, Jade Empire, and Mass Effect 1 and am saddened to see the obvious downward trend.
Like Blizzard and Warcraft, I simply don't like the direction BioWare has been headed for the last few years and cannot justify continuing to purchase their products. I can hold out hope that they will, eventually, return to the form of old but, unfortunately, that probably won't be possible as long as they're tied to the hip of EA.

Now it is solidified I will never preorder again, and likely rock solid I will never purchase from them again.
