99% of the trilogy was fantastic. I have over 100 hours played of both ME1 and ME2, each of which I purchased on Steam for $20. I'll definitely buy ME4, but I hope they do ME1-3 justice with their "clarification" and would have preferred an entirely new ending that embraced all of the player choices throughout the series.

Who says there's going to even be another Mass Effect?

EA and Dr. Ray Muzyka. Evidence: The ending. Evidence: Ray Muzyka said in an interview they would continue the Franchise just not with Shepard.

The fact of the matter is that BioWare no longer creates games that I enjoy. I didn't finish DA2, and I played through ME3 simply because I cared about the characters and wanted to see what happens.

Exact same situation for me.

ME3 and DA2 had locks on my wallet because I had emotional investment in both series. Those are both "spent" now. I didn't even finish DA2.

Not after this you won't.

I stayed thru DA2 and the crappy ME3 endings.

I will NOT buy another BioWare product. And it sucks.......

A very sad day, and a day I say goodbye to BioWare.

Look we all love us some Mass Effect.

We wouldn't be here on a Bioware forum complaining if we didn't.

I'm seeing tons of people saying, "That's it!", "Never again Bioware!", "Vote with your money not your mouth" etc. etc.

The thing is.... I predict by the time the next Mass Effect game is out a good portion of this anger will have faded. It will never go away, but it will fade, and that is a fact.

I know people still talk about how crappy Dragon Age 2 was. ( I hated it BTW) but the venom has faded to some degree. But people are still going to buy DA3 because we're hoping for good escapism. Bioware provides that.

When ever the next ME game comes out, it will be a topseller, and score rave reviews all over again.

People won't forget about this ending dillema, it's now perminantly etched on the history of gaming....but this franchise is still way too lucrative and too amazing for us fans to let go.

Oh look, you are so adorable thinking you know me and what I will/won't do!
Please, do share, what will I do tommorrow? I'm dying to know! :o

Noun: 1. A strong and fast-moving stream of water or other liquid.  2. A sudden, violent, and copious outpouring of (something, typically words or feelings): "she was subjected to a torrent of abuse".

What?  I was just referring to the torrents of fan adoration that I'm sure Bioware will receive with their next offering.

Really.

Agreed.

Beyond the ending, I like ME3 and I will in all probability buy ME4. I'm just praying that BW decide to actually decide to make the sequels about the characters we have learned to love.

I would rather not have them buy the next Bioware game. Bioware offers to much choice and they will feel it's their story and cry when they realize it's not. They want to move on, let them. If they want to torrent, let them. least they won't have a leg to stand on when bickering about the game, since they didn't pay for it.

I'm one of those that hated DA2 and made noise about it. Time has passed, and I still have no interest in DA3. Similarly, I will not be buying any future ME titles as this story is effectively over for me.

Piratebay is where you'll see me getting the next Bioware game. I'll be seeding them 24/7 too, so hopefully nobody else has to buy them.

I would actually like to see any subsequent ME title to be years AFTER the first trilogy. with new characters, new teammates, new story and only passing reference to the original.

Maybe like 50,000 years later or the next cycle. do the reapers return? Were the reapers really the destroyers? Were they actually just another entity controlled by an even bigger monster alien race?

Maybe one of the characters has a tie to the original shepard? A clone? GREat great great great. whatever grandchild/

This "era" is done. We've had our fun. Let's move onto the future.

BTW:  I hate talk of piracy and illegal ways of getting games. You are not only hurting bioWare (whatever i know that's your point), but you are HURTING the entire game industry by doing so. You deny earnings to a company that uses to pay their employees down that person who tests for bugs. When there is no money, there is no job. When there is no job, there are more people unemployed. You drive up  the costs of games

And you'are all being  hypocrites. If you don't want to buy a game, that means you hate the company and the games they make. Pirating only makes you look like an idiot. You just don't want to pay for it. If you want to send a message, that means YOU DO NOT PLAY THEIR GAMES AT ALL!

luckily next gen consoles will do away with this crap anyway.

My decision to buy more Bioware products pretty much hinges on the removal of the Star Child. I am cautiously pessimistic about the extended ending. I could see them removing the Star Child and still providing a good extended ending. If they don't. Well. It was good knowing Bioware.

In either case, I will no longer be pre-ordering. I want to make sure I get a complete product before I purchase it.

Doubtful. I don't do MMOs. And there can't be sequels since galactic civilization is gone

Now if there was a movie about the First Contact War, yea I'd see that. But if they make like an RTS out of it, wouldn't be something I'd be interested in

If this DLC turns out to be a burst, I'm not going to go as far as to say I will never buy a BW game again - I can't back that up - but I can go as far as to say every purchase I make will be after shrewd investigation: in other words, no more pre-orders for me.

If I read any hints of the same problems as DA2 or ME3 creeping into whatever game it may be, no buy.

Hopefully we're all proven wrong and foolish, and the Extended Cut DLC is great, in which case I'll gladly eat my hat...but from what was said about it I'm not holding my breath.

Consumers don't always come back.

Ask Westwood and Bullfrog.

Bioware can go the way of those.

I will wait and see until the release of the DLC, but I am fully prepared to abandon their games. Its been a good run.
