I'll still see most of you in line waiting to buy the next Mass Effect game.

I would if they had actually listened to fan feedback. They say they listened when people wanted a changed ending, but then they add a couple cutscenes and say they've done their job. I have lost all hope in Bioware and do not intend to buy their next game, they can no longer be trusted.

While I appreciate you speaking on my behalf, OP and I do love having others make my decisions for me, I am afraid that I must respectively dissagree with your assumption.

If you and some others wish to continue to support mediocrity, feel free.

Torrents.

Yes let's give publishers an excuse to put out even more intrusive DRM....

Just to be clear - I'm against torrenting anything. If you like the game enough to play it, don't be an arse, pay the people that made it. However, and it's never been proven otherwise, DRM does nothing to prevent piracy. It's just a way of harrassing the people that actually paid for the game.

Nope. The universe is dead. Why would I want to watch it get worse and worse?

Thepiratebay for the win!

Really, the only way Bioware and other companies (Capcom for example) will learn lessons is if we stick to our guns. I'll still pay to play...second hand ofcourse.

OP, the forums have 10% of the fans if that much. Even if everybody crying here did follow through and stop buying (they won't), neither EA nor BW would starve.

Look at forums for any Blizzard game, hundreds of people swear off every day, yet the companies go strong. It's all posturing and "line holding", sound and fury signifying nothing.

In most cases this would be true, but I've never seen an uproar like this before. Dont be suprised if Bioware strugles and even goes down.

I refer to prices at Amazon, not more than a week had past and it was lower in price than Skyrim. Even now Its still cheaper than Skyrim. Thats not a good sign.

I wont buy another Day 1. That's all I can say. Honestly, DA2 really made that a possibility.. I probably wouldn't be at this point if it weren't for that... but ME3 was the last straw after the disturbing trends I saw in ME2 (which I still loved, btw).

I wont withhold my money because of this, but I wont buy until I'm comfortable that the game's going to satisfy what I expect from a Bioware game.

It honestly depends on a) how satisfying the extended cut DLC is, B) the state of the ME universe and whether it's still a great galaxy, or whether it's been rendered unrecognizable by the ending apocalypse, and c) what kind of game they make. I have no interest in a strategy game, little in a FPS unless they put in a rich, detailed story, and I'm on the fence about an MMORPG, especially after the events of the ending. I think the ME IP is one of the greatest sci-fi universes ever created, so yes, I'd be happy to revisit it, assuming the creators don't destroy everything that made it great (which, if you take the endings at face value, they kind of did).

So my answer is: I'd love to because it's too good of an IP to waste, but I'll wait and see.

I might buy a future ME game. After it has been out a while, gotten good customer reviews and word of mouth, and there is a $10-20 sale someplace.

I hope you are right, OP.

BioWare will have to offer a hell of a lot incentive for me to pre-order again though. And not just a few weapons or armor I won't use. It will have to be MUCH more substantial than an ugly color crystal. Actually, the only reason I'll get in line at a midnight release again is if they offer at least 10$ off the price, of which I'm sure they won't do.

Looks like Torrents indeed, until the game is in the sales bin for less than half the original price. Shouldn't take more than a month.

I might buy second-hand, but ME3 was the first title I ever pre-ordered. It taught me a very important lesson about pre-ordering "don't do it dumb***".

Besides, why would I want to play a Mass Effect without relays? It'd be like Star Wars without hyper-drive or Star Trek without Warp. Who cares?

Good thing that console publishers are looking to limit the playability of used games.

I wouldn't call that 'good'

Why buy the cow, when you can get the milk for free? I will almost certainly play the next Mass Effect game(if there is one), but I damn sure won't buy it or any other Bioware/EA title. Pretty easy problem to get around really. I buy because I want to support the developers. No more.

Well apparently Bioware is no longer able to make games that their fans can appreciate so I'm sorry but you won't OP. If the next Mass Effect game somehow turns out to be greatest thing ever then I'll pick it up from the bargain bin or rent it. I'm not paying full price for Bioware games anymore.

I'll buy any game based on its merits, but this disappointment has taken any special consideration I might have given Bioware. I now have reason to ask around and find out who else makes games like Bioware but doesn't live under the fail conditions of EA. That doesn't mean Bioware can't redeem themselves in the future.

So no, I don't have a "never again," attitude, but Bioware is just as liable to lose business to the reality that I may find what I want with another company. On the other hand, Blizzard continues to put out hits, even though I quit WoW for over a year now. SC2 is great and D3 looks quite promising. Blizz has had its pitfalls but nothing nearly as frustrating as these ME endings.

Oh yeah, and I'll wait for sales.

Look we all love us some Mass Effect.

We wouldn't be here on a Bioware forum complaining if we didn't.

I'm seeing tons of people saying, "That's it!", "Never again Bioware!", "Vote with your money not your mouth" etc. etc.

The thing is.... I predict by the time the next Mass Effect game is out a good portion of this anger will have faded. It will never go away, but it will fade, and that is a fact.

I know people still talk about how crappy Dragon Age 2 was. ( I hated it BTW) but the venom has faded to some degree. But people are still going to buy DA3 because we're hoping for good escapism. Bioware provides that.

When ever the next ME game comes out, it will be a topseller, and score rave reviews all over again.

People won't forget about this ending dillema, it's now perminantly etched on the history of gaming....but this franchise is still way too lucrative and too amazing for us fans to let go.

Bull****. I'm damn sure most retakers don't feel like getting ****ed by EAware again. Mass Effect is awesome but after this I'm sure it's just gonna end up being another one of EA's dairy cows.

Let me just say this... and I don't mean to sterotype at all! But Bioware seriously made me feel like a wife who was cheated on by her husband who once loved her. I have been in love with the mass effect series for 5 years! Needless to say, I am now a bitter woman when it comes to Bioware and I know once a cheater, always a cheater! Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn.

I wont be buying anymore Bioware games. And it is nothing to do with being vindictive, it is simply because they are not very good anymore, and I couldn't be sure that the product i bought was what was advertised.

To TC:

Wrong. I will rent BioWare games in the future. I may even buy them once their prices come down if the game is good and is highly replayable but only after I've verified this myself or through well-explained Youtube videos. Otherwise they won't have my money. If that means I miss out on a good game or two...well...big whoop. There's always other hobbies, books, the million other games out there, etc.
