If reunification requires me to commit genocide... then I guess I'm going to die. Killing off a sentient species, organic or synthetic, is a massive no-no for me.
I guess it doesn't matter. I got vapourised in the blue ending; they only they can reunite with is my ashes, I guess.
No kidding. Truly renegade to kill umpteen amount of souls simply to see your friends again.
On topic, Op, got a link to this tweeters you got? I trust you like I trust everyone on the web, but you can never be too careful.

If the DLC still involves everyone dying an overplayed grim dark death then forget it.

I know for many that an extended ending cut won't be enough. But I just talked with Merizan over twitter. She told me that:
1- No one starves to death, somehow.
and
2- No ending will be perfect, there will be some sacrifices. But it is possible to have shepard reunite with normandy and crew.
Of course, we'll just have to wait and see what this extended cut actually shows us. But if this is accurate, then I think I'll be just fine with this. Not really the best ending due to...well. Plot holes and star child. But I'll be okay if this is the possible outcome of said endings.
I can't really post the link to the tweets since my google chrome is being stupid. But I'm sure if you look you'll find out discussion. It's fairly recent.
So a ravaged earth manages to support tens of thousands of ships with their crews,
the normandy crew manage to find food for all the different races they had onboard when they crashed,
Shep manages to survive reentry after the citadel explodes with his/her armor already burned half to hell,

Puts to rest the 'mass relays blown = entire galaxy dead' theory.
that is something they HAVE to explain though. If you watch the galaxy map you see a shockwave go from each of the relays. The only basis we have is from The Arrival where that shockwave destroyed every living thing in the system.
also it could be they do'nt starve because they all got zaped by the relay explosion

if they remove destroying the geth from destroy ending and let me reunite with my crew I would accept that ending and be ok with it.
well what i thought about...
the geht have their consensus, they are software uploaded in hardware to work right? and the hardware is synthetic. so in the detroy ending only their hardware (their bodies) get destroyed, but not their minds (software), same goes for EDI was she is housed in the normandy AI core.
or am i completely wrong with that?

Now reserving judgement until I see the extended cut.

People blew the endings way way way out of proportion. Everyone assumed they would all starve for no reason. Everyone assumed the relays could not be rebuilt for no reason. Everyone assumed the normandy crew were stranded forever for no reason. Tons of people assumed the waves were destructive when shown the opposite was true.

People should stop assuming that "clarification" is bad. I bet we will get an extensive cinematic giving us a lot of closure(well not a lot, but you know... some).
Yeah, and people should stop arguing from ignorance. Just because they cannot imagine how the ending can be improved upon doesn't mean it can't be.
