Huh. How 'bout that. I was all set to dismiss this then I looked at Jessica Merizan's twitter and it's actually true.

Interesting!

I know for many that an extended ending cut won't be enough. But I just talked with Merizan over twitter. She told me that:

1- No one starves to death, somehow.

Puts to rest the 'mass relays blown = entire galaxy dead' theory.

that is something they HAVE to explain though. If you watch the galaxy map you see a shockwave go from each of the relays. The only basis we have is from The Arrival where that shockwave destroyed every living thing in the system.

also it could be they do'nt starve because they all got zaped by the relay explosion :)

It's their universe though. They could easily make up something like "Most of the energy from the overloading explosio was sent to the next relay, then the next, and the next, until it was finally released into deep space". Problem solved, not really an elegant solution though, I admit.

I'm pretty sure she knows at least some part of the project. She was one of the people compiling the feedback.

All good news. :) A revision could never be perfect, but it could sure make things more concrete so that the idea that the universe isn't doomed is no longer a blithe assumption.

What possibly reason would we have for being pessimistic? I get the whole playing down expectations and preparing for disappointment to reduce emotional investment, but come on.

On YOUR ending does not mean, that it will be THEIR ending...

The shepard I knew through 99% of the game would not accept the 3 endings currently available no matter how they were later clarified.

Bumpity for getting some actual real INFORMATION from Bioware.

But for the first time I know, and I'm gonna shout it:

IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE SHEPARD REUNITE WITH THE NORMANDY CREW!!!

I was always firmly in the camp of "to hell with your emo grimdark endings, give my Shepard a chance to ride off into the sunset with his girl and be happy." This just confirms it's possible.

Thanks!!!!!

Yeah Jessica I know you're just trying to get annoying prodders off your back. I would too.
But still.. rebuilding the relays is completely likely... AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Tell that to these two:

Oh yeah because reading it over twitter without any reason why they don't starve is so cheerful.

Take everything you read with a grain of salt. The art of telling people what they want to hear is time tested and effective. I'm just taking it as everyone was vaporized and maybe control Shepard can rebuild the relays so the Yahg can have fun. Sounds like artistic vision to me. Speculation from everyone.

If Shep can reunite with the Normandy (making my LI mean something), the relays can be rebuilt and the galactic race doesn't starve or get blown to bits, then I can deal.

I still despise the Starchild and would have preferred the confrontation with Harbinger that I was looking forward to, (and I still wish the Reapers were the primary villains and not just puppets).

But I can deal.

If this turns out to be utter tripe, I quit.

If you can't get the good endings w/o multiplayer, its pointless what they do, as far as I'm concerned.
