Jessica's comments really don't seem like they can be true based on the statement released from Bioware. I don't see how people don't starve, shepard, survives or that the themes of the series are preserved unless the ending is completely rewritten. Unless they use the indoctrination theory I don't see how any of it works.

or unless the jungle planet where the crash took place is habital with its own people

for all we know that could be the case because joker mentions of a jungle world where his dad and sister are so i wonder if thats where they landed

I hate to be the one to tell you this...Joker's family is dead.  Listen to the PTSD asari commando at huerta memorial.

 This is not good news.

Rebuilding likely means McGuffin is real. and that's bad.

I mean seriously. Real McGuffin only works if it's an action movie, or action game, even then real McGuffin is still bad. Sorry, I'm off track.

Better news than the crappy press release we just got. Take it as you will.

IF and I really mean that as a big IF, that is true then I could care less about what else happens.

I have to agree.

I just hope when Sheaprd sees liara again this does not mean that Liara buries him, is reunited with his body. Or the worst I can imainge,

She keeps a VI of him from the Citadel or the Box that she made to preserve the information about shepard and the reapers.

I......... Just........... Think I might have felt a tear roll down my cheek.

If this happens, if Shepard sees Liara again, and Tali gets her house on Rannoch, and Ashley becomes a Spectre, and Garrus sees his family again, and EDI can live with Joker again, and Javik gets to commit ritual suicide, then........... I'll personally send them another 402 cup cakes.

Except these ones will have a personal message of thanks and will all be different flavors.

If Shep can see Liara again, I'll shut up and Bioware can take my future money with DLC, and future games. I won't write them off.

Huh, so the relays definitely get wasted then.

So much for the IT.

Everyone assumed they would all starve for no reason. Everyone assumed the relays could not be rebuilt for no reason. Everyone assumed the normandy crew were stranded forever for no reason. Tons of people assumed the waves were destructive when shown the opposite was true.

1) There were a lot of good reasons for those conclusions, because there was nothing in the game to contradict them. For example, relay blows up > FTL is too slow to get home without food/fuel/drive discharge sites/whatever > no new supplies into Sol because no relay > dextro species in Sol starve. Nothing in the game indicates that that would not happen.

Hence the obvious need for clarification.

2) That's kind of what happens when the ending can be summed up by the phrase, "lots of speculation from everyone".

See thats my point right there.

Relay blows up. - Fine.

FTL is too slow to get home without food/fuel/drive discharge sites/whatever. -Huge negative assumptions. Millions of stars within a months travel of sol. Krogan dmz within a years travel Turian homeworld not much farther.

No new supplies into Sol because no relay. -V v large negative assumptions. hundreds of systems within 2 days travel. Assumes no  ability to rebuild or grow food in a technologically advanced manner.

Dextro species in Sol starve. - Assumes dextro food cannot be created for them. Assumes there was no existing food supply for turians visiting earth. Assumes no planets in even 2 days range could support dextro life/provide dextro food, let alone within a months travel. Assumes no quarian live ships full of dextro food survived.

The fact that the negative assumptions could not be disproved means nothing. I can make positive assumptions that cannot be disproved. People hated the ending. Because of that they assumed the very very worst for every possible variable.

How do you know these time frames? What magical math equation are you using to come to these conclusions?

Traveling to the Krogan DMZ in a year? The Persian Veil "not much farther"?

One of Nihlus' first lines in Mass Effect 1 states: "Without the Citadel and their Mass Relays, Interstellar travel would be impossible". So, I ask again:

WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?

Technically, she said reuniting with the crew was possible before the controversy really kicked up, as well as the relays being rebuilt.

But all she meant was that it was possible in headcanon based off of which ending you chose, not actual game footage.

We'll have to wait and see.

In the event that this new free DLC really does fix things, I might just rejoin the fandom. But until then, I quit. Not going to drag out my personal angst any longer. Going completely cold turkey.

So, uh, later, you guys. Drop me a PM if you want to stay in touch. I'll be checking my messages for the next few days, but this is my last forum post.

I wish I could do something a little more epic for my exit, but whatever.

It would be nice if she actually came in the thread to clarify a little more. I sort of doubt it, she stated that she really doesn't want people taking apart and twisting her words. But it would be nice.

If they were charging the DLC and want to draw more people in buying it.  What exactly can Bioware/EA gain from here if they reveal more info other than to re-bridge the fandom?

This is the first piece of solid evidence that really debunks the IT (rebuilding the relays means that it wasn't a hallucination).

Which makes ALL those questions about space magic now more valid than before.

Ugh.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to see my crew again, but jeez, all aboard the SS Ginormous Plotholes.

Everything is "perfect" (irony) but why are they writing "depending on your choices? So what? Are they admitting that choices (originally) didn't mattered? BTW- can someone ask about Rachni? Are They planning to expand their role somehow?

So this confirms then that the explosions of the Mass Relays in the ending ARE different than from Arrival, despite what the Codex says? That makes no sense.
