BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise.
According to an article from a while ago, the ending is the creation of Mac and Casey exclusively.
It is utterly disgraceful to say that it's the "team's artistic vision", if most of the team was not allowed to actually take part in it. It wasn't their decision, and not their vision at all - how can you frame them like that? Why do you wish to persist on keeping this ending that clearly is the opposite of everything they've been planning and promising?
Let the writer team fix the problem. This is not their error, but they can still fix it by making a new ending, one that actually represents the team's vision, and not just Casey's and Mac's.
Let alone, people will still hate the ending, because it's based on a flaw of logic. Making it clearer that it doesn't make sense won't help...
