I don't get it, I seriously don't understand it. I comprehend that Bioware/EA is a company, and that at the end of the day they want money. That is why I find it so baffling that bioware won't create a completely different ending dlc. We told them what we want. Some people said "I won't buy it. I want it for free." but we all know this is not true. Fans would probably pay up to 20$ for ending dlc that actually addressed their issues and gave a comprehensive ending with multiple paths that displayed the effect that your Shepards actions have had on the galaxy. Sure, we would whine the whole time but the money would change hands and our faith would be restored that Bioware at least gives a tiny poop about us. Complaints about having to pay for it would blow over and people would just remember that Mass Effect was a great series and they can't wait to see what Bioware does next. Along the way, Bioware would probably break a few dlc sales records.
Instead they are announcing that they are going to try to placate the fans who they insist on referring to as a small group by doing exactly what we don't care about, which is more clarification on an ending we hate. It's like being given 7 up, and we hate 7 up and so as a way of saying sorry we get more free 7 up. This is happening at the same time as they are on a massive thread locking spree, as a hope to keep people quiet.
Bioware doesn't know it, but they don't want people to be quiet. When dissenters are quiet it means they don't care any more, about anything. They didn't suddenly change their minds and decide that they like the ending after all now that they are going to learn more about it. When they stop fighting they stop caring, and when they stop caring they stop buying. There will be no boycott, no mass desertion but rather a quiet shift to other games, other shows, other books, other forms of entertainment that satisfy our desire for good story and that we feel we can invest in safely.
I'm not saying that Bioware is finished, but they are going to lose a lot o money getting people to forget about this and they could have been raking it in the whole time. I know that they will not give me the ending I want, and that makes me sad. You can count on me to shrug indifferently when DA3 or any other bioware project is announced rather than immediately look into it and preorder the collectors edition immediately. I think you can count on a lot of other people to do the same.

I feel the same way. They said they were listening but really they were not . My biggest problem with the ending will not be addressed and it can't be addressed with clarification. Well I've been meaning to get Witcher 2 might go play that. But DA3 I was kind of excited about it until this fiasco. Now...no. I will only get it used or something I refuse to pay full price and I won't be buying any ME3 dlc. It is just not worth it. Because I feel insulted by what Bioware is saying. So yeah, I don't get it either.
