The installation tools that EA chose to use are very unstable and persnickety (some of us suspect there are ondisk anti-copying tracks also).  The slightest smudge on the disk, the slightest bit of lint on the drive mirror, any minor deviation in the drive's firmware from the official ATAPI standard, and it chokes.  Try different DVD drives.  Clean your disk and drive carefully.  Try copying to a folder on the hard disk and installing from there.  Borrow a friend's external DVD drive.

Many of the digital downloads suffer similar difficulties, with much less simple fixes, HOWEVER, if you have a retail hard copy with problems, you can use your CD-Key to download a digital copy from EA's store.  .

AFAIK, the above is still exactly as it has been since the release.  Please don't ask me to describe the process, however.  I do not use digital copies of games, or much at all like any DLC, because the easily affordable Family Combo of Landline, 'Net, and TV from my cable company isn't "broad enough" of a broadband for that.

How would one go about doing this? I tried using the code as the promotional code in the checkout, but that didn't work out.

I've edited my old reply to add this: "Please don't ask me to describe the process, however. I do not use digital copies of games, or much at all like any DLC, because the easily affordable Family Combo of Landline, 'Net, and TV from my cable company isn't "broad enough" of a broadband for that."

The way to download from the EA store is covered already, I'm fairly sure, in one or another of the forum's pinned threads on the top.

Go to main EA Store web site and use the Activate Game feature to access the digital download option using your CD Key.

Thank you very much, JackM, your solution solved the problem for me: http://social.biowar.../809094#5095022

Do you know how to install the downloadable content? It doesn't appear installed neither to install.
