Where do I go to get the reaver and beserker specializations? I'd like them for Alistair and/or Sten.

Side with Kolgrim in the Urn of Sacred Ashes for Reaver.

Ask Oghren to teach you Berserker. At least, I think Oghren taught it...

A little digging told me that the reaver specialization is unlocked in the Urn quest. Thanks for the info about the beserker, Herr Uhl!

A Berserker tome is also available at the Dwarven merchant in Denerim.

The only way to get Reaver is siding with Kolgrim during the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest. (You could make a save for this purpose and just reload after, that's what I did.)

Aside from getting the Reaver specialization, why does anyone side with Kolgrim in the Urn quest?

Because they think that the chantry and maker is a load of bullocks. Huzzah for dwarves and dhalish everywhere!

To get the reaver quest: Side with Kolgrim, the leader of the cults in the old temple in the Frostback mountains(The Urn of Sacred Ashes quest). Accept the task to poor blood into the Urn once you get there(Beware if you have Wynne and Leliana with you, they WILL attack you after you do it.) Then go outside and Kolgrim will be waiting for you, accept to drink the blood of the dragon. There you go, Reaver class.

To get Beserker: 2 options: Either buy the book from Gorim in the Market District(The dwarf screaming "DWARVEN CRAFSTS! FINE DWARVEN CRAFTS!!"), he should have the book to learn it, 15 gold. If not, look in Bodahns shop in camp, he might have it. You can also be nice to Oghren and he'll teach you.

To weaken the Chantry? It seems unlikely that the throngs of peasants populating Fereldan (and elsewhere) would have the common sense to question whether the ashes in that urn are really Andraste's, let alone really holy and not merely magical, lyrium-infused, or something else entirely. Even if the Chantry is seen as fundamentally good, and even if they are exactly correct with respect to the Maker's and Andraste's existence, nothing will change the fact that the urn is an extremely powerful weapon, like it or not. Genetivi won't keep it secret unless you kill him, and even doing that doesn't guarantee that someone won't come along next year, find it, and use it for evil.

Well, spoilerifically (WARNING), even if you let brother Genetivi live, if you don't kill the dragon, the ashes remain lost, so there's not much of a boon to the Chantry there. I think the game would have benefitted from some other goody-two-shoes-type competing religion to give you are reason to keep the finding of the Urn a secret.
