Let me apologize in advance, I am a complete beginner with modding. This is the first toolset I've ever tried to use, so my questions may seem pretty novice for some veterans out there.

I'm watching a video tutorial on YouTube on how to create a room to learn the basics. I get the area setup up and put the floor tile down. Then the first wall and it snaps into place. When I go to put the second wall tile down and
try to spin it, it won't snap into place. So I trial and error it until it looks kind of right. When I go to place my third tile, the cursor turns into the wall tile but I can't place it in the work space. No matter where I click
to drop it, I get an error saying "Cannot spawn models into the selected parent object".

I think the problem is from my second tile not being in the proper alignment but I'm not sure. Does anyone know what the problem could be? How do I get tiles to snap into place? Is there something I need to do or is it
supposed to happen automatically?

Here is the tutorial video I'm watching in case it helps diagnose the problem.

Thanks in advance!!!

Well, now I'm really confused. I deleted everything to start over and I am still getting the same error. So I closed the entire program down, without saving any work, and I still get that error when starting from scratch. I have no idea what I did. =(

That video was extremely helpful. I kept watching it while I was trying to figure it out/wait for a response and she ran into the same problem and explained what to do.

Now I feel like I've had a conversation to myself. *sheepish grin*

I'm not sure if this is the problem. But check if the "New room"  listing in the left menu of the toolset is marked. If it is marking for example the "New Area" listing instead, it will generate the error message you mention.

I hope this works. Image IPB

EDIT: This was harder to explain than I thought... So... Here is an image instead:

Yeah, that was the problem. I didn't notice it became unselected and knowing next to nothing about toolsets, I never bothered to check. Thanks for the reply!

All systems go now.. until the next problem. =)
