I'd rather pay for a real ending, than get free "clarifications."

Not really. The Retake movement has effectively been destroyed today.

Enough people were "i love bioware but i hate the ending" moderate. This has swung them back to Bioware's side. They are getting free DLC that addresses the ending.

People that wanted closure, clarity or free stuff are now happy. They have severely fragmented the retake movement the day before they were due to show a united front at PAX.

You'll still get vocal people, but they areclearly the minority now if they were not before. They will also look more spoilt and whiny than before for rejecting Biowares compromise.

It's a very shrewd business move by EA.

I agree they are in danger ea never allow user choice again as it creates "unrealistically high expectations"

I'm not sure who you're talking about, OP. Yeah, some people were holding out for a Total Rewrite and not all of them are taking it well. That's a far cry from EVERYONE rejecting the announcement. I for one am hopeful that the expansion fills in the gaping questions that made the original ending so dissatisfying. This is less than what I asked for but as much as what I hoped for. So, I feel pretty calm. I'll give it a fair shot, and I'll do the same (very cautiously) for BioWare's future titles. What more could they ask from me other than to grovel thoughtlessly? I've been reasonable and realistic before, during, and after this whole thing.

I said I was willing to pay for a proper ending. Therefore I don't give two hoots about a free "explanation".

Discuss.

Also, the endings are broken. You cannot clarify something that's BROKEN. You fix it.

its an extended verison there working on till the summer its not going to be 5 min long

I ****ing hope not, or bioware just lost about 90 percent of their fanbase.

The length of a turd does not improve its value.

That dosent make sense

Actually, it does make sense. You just don't understand it.

Stopped reading here. Fallout 3 did it without nearly as much ****ing from the fanbase. You've got your facts wrong.

Skimmed the rest, looks like the rest of this post is just sucking Bioware's dck, and not adding anything productive to spurn a discussion.

Bioware isn't doing anything for their fanbase. Stop kidding yourself. They're doing this because they're hoping we'll shut up and go away. But once again, they f--ed up. Because they promised to take the feedback given and go from there. Over a 1,000 pages later and they've decided they'd rather stick with their so-called artistic integrity [That allows them to modify their game via Day 1 Dlc, but whatever...] Then respect their fans.

If that makes you sick, it's really to damn bad. With the amount of money I've invested in this company they'll hear my voice until I decide to leave for good.

Clarification of a broken ending is not what I asked for.
This ending does not work. I don't care if you make en entire new game and call it Mass Effect 3 Episode 2 to explain it. IT STILL WON'T WORK.

That's why I will never be happy with this. I don't care if it's free. I doubt I'll even bother downloading it.
BioWare have a chance for a do over, instead they're going to try and fill in the plot holes with gum. That will not work.

ROFL.

And yes, it does make sense. It basically means the fact it's going to be longer than 5 minutes is irrelevant if it is only serving to elongate crap.

I guess to be fair, we should at least wait and see what they do. I have my doubts if it's only 'clarification', but who knows.

IA, and I also agree that this is only going to get worse, and the fact that people are complaining that they're getting free stuff is silly.

äh... what? I get a 10GB New-Contet Update for Witcher2 on April 17 for free, Contet based on Fan-wishes. Something CD Projekt not done the First Time. And what about Bethesda? They give me tool to Change anything in their Game I want, I even can change the Parthunax Problem at the End thanks to Mod, or anything other Problem. I can create a commander Shepard with N7 Armor or a Starchild so I can kill it with an Axe. I can create a hole new Story or Change the existing one dramatical.
And what about changing the Problem with Ending of Fallout 3 because Fans want it? What about all the Stuff Valve has done in the Past based on Fan-wishes? There are so many great exemples of Fan-Service in the Gaming-Industrie, and I don't see right now that Bioware will reach that Level of Fan-Service. That has the DLC they make to show in Summer, the dlc that change nothing, and well, I want to change the End.

This. Again I have to agree with this guy and I don't even know who the hell he is. Image IPB

Hey, there is what looks like a pile of dog poo at the end of the sidewalk.

Need more clarification? Take this magnifying glass, go over there and take a look. Yep...still a pile of dog poo, only in a bit more detail.

I like that.  A painter paints a portait for a customer and then rips it in half and sells it.  When the customer gets it, he says, "hey, this is broken, I want it fixed."  The painter says, "Okay, I'll fix it."  The painter tapes the two halves of the painting together with duct tape and then sends it back to the customer with a note that says, "Okay, it's fixed, now shut the hell up."
