So, I got the black widow a day or so ago but just used it for the first time.

My conclusion, this thing is complete crap as well as a waste of a weapon slot. It takes two shots to kill a husk, non head shot, in bronze with an HCB, are you **** kiding me!? All the hype over this gun and it turns out to be a total waste of time. I'll take my Carni all day.

Extended barrel on that thing makes it a beasty slayer, so long as you use it right. Punches right through cover too.

Yeah it's fine when you aim for the head but honestly, the Carni scope is better for that because less zoom = less sensitivity with the scope = easier to hit the head on these enemies that jump around like they're dancin.

As for class I was just using it on my fem soldier that I am leveling to up my N7 (if I'm gonna play I might as well up it right?). I imagine you are going to say something about infiltrator hidden damage bonus? If so that should be irrelevant. The damn thing should one shot lesser enemies.

BW with extended barrel + spare thermal clip is great on an infiltrator. With the barrel, you should be able to one shot basic mobs without cloak activated. When in doubt, shoot for the head.  The thermal clip also is great seeing as how you're running 3 shots per load.

I have extended barrel 5 on it and it doesn't even one shot husks on bronze, the thing's rubbish.

It's an absolute beast when leveled up. Right now it's only level one, so it only sees love from my Krogan Soldier, yet it works very well.

I usually just rock my Carni with scope and HCB with all my classes cept for Krogan (GPS) but I just decided to try it out for a match.

What class are you? I've one shotted stuff on a level 1 with a BW + barrel. I don't understand how you're not.

The BW does 514.1 damage at rank 1, a bronze game husk has a health bar of 412.5, you can bodyshot a bronze husk with the BW.

Well, he's right.  Being able to oneshot 3 regular enemies and deal enormous damage to bosses make it probably the mose versatile sniper in the game.

The point is, Sniper Rifles are meant to execute headshot at long range.  The BW gives the piercing power of a Widow while sacrificing damage for an expanded clip.  You can kill multiple enemies with one shot.

Since you have a low level BW, it isn't going to be the best in damage say, to a Javelin or Widow, or a high level Mantis.

Tried to use encoder 4 to screen cap a game in order to show that this thing doesn't one shot anything but it only captured the blue mouse pointer on a black screen.

The Black Widow does 0 points of damage if you miss. Maybe that's your problem.

It's not great for close range sniping, especially on console. You have to be getting headshots.

The BW is the best sniper rifle of the game, only comes second to the valiant and again, specifically for lower enemies.

You are using it wrong.
