Oh, and I REALLY appreciate the links at the end of your post, thanks! I'll have to do a little double-checking on my own, but that's a few companies I don't have to worry about doing business with ever again, and I appreciate you pinpointing which ones to start with! (Oh, you missed Forbes' second article, btw, the one mentioning the problems with EAware's announcement. Did you want to add it to your link list?) Thanks again!
On a more serious note: have you read Jessica Merizan's Twitter today? While I agree that the main announcement today was a punch in the stomach, Jess seems to indicate that some of the offending elements in the ending might actually receive chemotherapy. Here's hoping!

MintyCool, I'm not sure what all the animosity is about here, but I for one think your post is well written, insightful, and shows a keen sense of observation. You make a lot of very salient points about themes and the imagery used to convey them. I wouldn't worry too much about the comments from some of these folks; I get the sense that many of them are barely literate.
Anyway, thanks very much for posting that. I wish Bioware would provide a separate forum for people who enjoyed the ending, and would like to discuss its meaning without being shouted down by people whose only contribution is a lack of imagination.
Cheers!
Comments such as this only do more to further the animosity and overall negativity on the BSN. One should never make assumptions about the general level of intelligence demonstrated by other posters on a web forum. As, by in large, most web forums are for freeform thought and already denote literacy, as the contrary would perhaps look something similar to this: "dfhkaseafhuk324789234hiofaf"
With that said, Minty has on several threads now, posted about this particular thread ad nauseum. Which could be considered spam by many who understand the nature of web forums. Granted, if Minty has a valid point to make, then one post is all it takes or should take. If it is buried under the endless torrent of other threads, that in no way reflects on the cause if Minty has one, but more or less shows that the forum is active. If Minty wishes the thread be seen, a bump is allowed, but should be confined to this thread for the sake of relevance.
As anything else negates the point and purpose. Will either of you be so inclined as to read this? Can't say, but I do hope this has helped.

But even if you did have something to do with it i have this:
It must give you such satisfaction to be right. pay no mind that, it essentially prevents future forays into this universe. or that it basically means sequels or an MMO will never come into existence for the possible enjoyment of millions of other people. Or that other books, comic books, or other media may have been written that Non-gamers could of enjoyed for years afterward. Potentially bringing the series beyond being "just a game" and be the series of our generation, this generation's Star Wars or Star Trek, and not to mention the potential millions upon millions the owners of this franchise could of made int he process.
No, none of that matters, just so long that your right.
Congratulations.....you just screwed us all. Thanks....
I hope it feels good.

Secondly EA doesnt respect artistic integrity, they respect money and the fastest way to make it.
Philosophical themes are all well and good when it fits the story, in this case it contradicts the lore the story has created thus far.
And bioware hasnt allied itself with the pro-enders, this extended cut announcement is most likely been pushed from ea to try and clean their image after winning the worst company in america award from the consumerist.
Continue to be spoon fed the BS that EA and bioware are feeding you but dont make a thread claiming biowares "loyal fanbase thanks them" when their true loyal fanbase is trying to protect the artistic integrity of the original themes of the trilogy, nand not accepting a rushed incoherent ending.

So many pop-psychologists on these forums! Very interesting and laughable.

Note: For the few of you that acutally did respond with some intelligence. After dinner with some friends; I'll try to respond to your thoughts when i get back. luv!

That would be really cool! Speaking of Swtor, I think my time card has run out... Well, time to buy a new one!

If you think he's a troll then STOP F***ING BUMPING THE DAMN THREAD.
Most of you have replaced others experiences with your own. You have lost your individuality by becoming absorbed into a mob mentality. You became part of a Retake Hivemind.
What happens when someone comes along and states a different view or offers new insight?
You attack, belittle, and use vitriolic statements. If that doesn't work, you demand others to be silent so that the thread is shunned into infinity.
The Retake Hivemind.
Creativity wins. Always. Checkmate.

Right, and we didn't need to know that the Reapers were designed by some glowy kid with really faulty logic. They were just big bad space bugs that wanted to destroy us.MintyCool wrote...
Why must one need to see Tali's face? Why do we need to know a detailed history of the Protheans? How come we need to see the Rachni and Krogan attack the enemy? Isn't the struggle of loss and war already inferred multiple times throughout the story? The focus of the end game is obviously being developed on a much deeper/different theme.
Midichlorians anyone? You do not need to know how exactly the force works...
