A free DLC that "clarifies" the "artistic vision?" The artistic vision was never all that unclear, BioWare. We understand. It's super deep. Cycles, Jesus, clumsy and random injection of tragedy into a heroic epic because grimdark=artsy. That garbage wasn't so hard to understand that we were confused about it. It was just garbage. The utter lack of detail, exposition or denouement was, if anything, a mercy.
So.. yeah. I've bought practically every BioWare RPG since Baldur's Gate. I preordered DA, DA2 and ME3. I would've preordered ME2 but I happened to have been living in a mud straw hut at the time. I bought almost all of BioWare's DLC. I actually enjoyed games like DA2 and Jade Empire quite a bit, despite the problems that a lot of people had with them. I forgave the opening scenes of ME3 and all that crap with Kai Leng pretty readily. I'll admit I'm a BioWare fanboy. Hell, I'll probably still buy DA3 if the fan response is good.
Now I won't even be wasting the bandwidth on free DLC. I might check out the content on YouTube someday if I ever get so bored that I've already gone through and seen every lolcat on the internet. ME, ME2 and ME3 are uninstalled and will remain so. I will be buying no DLC for this game in the future, and will be buying no future games placed in the Mass Effect setting. This isn't because I feel "betrayed." It's because I don't like Mass Effect anymore. It's just a crap experience now, and a waste of time. I don't want to teach BioWare a lesson here with some kind of boycot.. I just derive no enjoyment from the game whatsoever. If you'd told me that this could be done fifteen minutes before I finished ME3, there's no way I would've believed you. It's a pretty impressive feat.
By all means, take the worst part of the entire series and draw it out for another ten minutes or so.
