 When playing MP mode I'm getting some funky effect that's best described like a Solar flare / lsd + x-ray and the screen goes fuzzy and discoloured. Oddly enough it doesn't seem to show up on the screenshots (with fraps)
I've tried two different machines (one with a GTX480 and the other with a GTX260).
It appears for a while, and then disappears. Does not seem to matter if it's indoors or outdoors on a mp level

You generally get that when your krogan goes into rage mode. After killing 3 or more enemies via melee.

The effect isn't friendly on the eyes though.. it's quite the strain, eat least for me.
