They're probably not going to talk about it because they have no idea how or what they are going to do, exactly.

And you know what? I bet most of the people who attend that panel will be polite and not cause a scene at all, because posting on the internet makes everyone a tough guy hero.

Jessica Merzan has already tweeted today that the endings will include a possibility of Shep reuniting with the crew, and the possibility of rebuilding the mass relays, depending on the ending. So, either she's fanwanking based on what's already there--"if there are dead reapers you have plenty of reaper tech, and Shep can live if you have enough war assets!"--or giving some pretty significant details on what we can expect to see when this is released.

I really respect what Jessica Merizan has done for the fans during this whole thing, but I don't know if she really knows what's going on. She spent time tweeting to people that the Normandy crashed on Earth, then when it was mentioned that there were two moons in the sky, she corrected herself by saying they landed on Mars.

I hope she is giving us hope rather than just speculating again, but I'm remaining skeptical until they give official information from the company.

Oh, lovely.  They probably should tell her to keep quiet, then, for their own sakes, unless they think vaguely managing expectation now is a way to quell disappointment in fans until it goes away.

What are they thinking? Its like they are deliberately doing everything possible to ****** off the fans. Why would they possibly NOT discuss this as PAX? If they really have no idea what theyre going to do, why not just make the announcement at PAX and then say "we will be releasing more details soon"

It makes NO sense. I just...argh

Seriously guys, to anyone who's going to PAX: rape those idiots with everything you've got, even if they refuse to talk about it, just be persistent and let them know that they need us, not the other way around.

Bioware hasn't learned their lesson.

Proverbs 16:8 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

That's wisdom right there alright.

Bioware should definately be heeding the words of King Solomon.

Good to see I'm not the only one who immediately flashed back to that verse upon hearing that announcement

This is not going end well for Bioware...

That is not a good idea, that is absolutely not how you handle something like this..

Jessica is a lovely lady but her bosses have put her  in an absolute no win situation and continue to throw her under the bus. Expect this time is a freight train coming.

I work for an event management company, and one of the things we sometimes have to look after (although not so much in my department, I have to admit) is conferences and panels such as this one will be. When a hostile audience is expected, it is very common for the interviewees (in this case Bioware) to "plant" question-askers in the audience with pre-arranged questions. The host is told which people to ask and what order to ask them in, and it still gives every impression of a normal Q&A without touching upon questions that Bioware aren't comfortable with.

They won't completely blank the endings, because that would cause outrage. They'll have at least one pre-arranged question that seems as if it's almost asked about the endings, so they can almost answer, and hope that calms everyone down.

Thank you for this insight.  Now that you mention it, I would not be surprised if the PAX Q&A is rigged.

Look, there's no way it'll play out this way. The audience at PAX won't let them stay silent.

Here's why they need to have some answers on the ending ready. Somebody will ask about the ending. They'll say no comment. The audience will boo. Somebody will ask about the ending DLC in a different way "will voice actors be involved. etc" Bioware will shoot them down. People will boo. All of this will be recorded on youtube. The media will pick up on it and use the fan outrage for new stories. The Pro-Bioware sites will blast them as entitled fans, especially if somebody does something stupid. Those who are more skeptical ending will be use it to discuss the failure of Bioware's PR.

Either way, the story won't die. Fans will be even more skeptical. "You want me to buy this DLC on the hopes your new ending will fix things... but you won't tell me anything about it?" The story will get another cycle or two of coverage.

It would be better for Bioware to stand up, defend the ending, explain the clarification/closure DLC, and try to "level" with fans. They might actually have a shot at salvaging their brand in the long-term. I assume they'll realize this. But, hey, I've been wrong before.

Why are the fans so upset about the press release? Because it offers no real information and could mean almost anything, from a really changed ending to some added text files chronicling what came afterwards.

Now we'll get no further explanation at PAX... BW should make a clear statement where they are going to take this.
Noone wanted a clarification or an expanded ending, but that is all that was offered,
we wanted the errors fixed, not clarified.

I can't believe that this is really all BW will do, but they should just say so and not leave us hanging again. They are continuing to make the worst decisions in how they deak with it.

No cryptic promises, open intent is what's needed now.
