It won't be streamed? think they'll say "no cameras/video of any kind, including cell phones" then talk the whole time about what? multiplayer? until the time is up and say "sorry we ran out of time for questions" or just have 1 or 2 pre-scripted questions..I doubt any real fan will be able to ask them anything.
*sigh*

It's simple.
ADD NEW DAMN ENDINGS. Rage gone.
They're getting rage because they didn't do what was asked but tried a tangential approach - that doesn't work, it never works, it has never worked, it will never work.
I appreciate, truly appreciate, them doing this for free...but don't waste your time developing something that doesn't attack the meat of the issue. Make a proper damn go of it and charge me $10.
And don't give me this "artistic integrity" crap. You allowed a writer who wasn't even involved in the inception of the series to seclude himself in a room and write the ending solo. YOU violated any artistic integrity or credibility by allowing the omission of the rest of your writing team in the production of arguably the most important part of the narrative.
Fix it, charge me $10.
This. I'm with you 100%. Just charge me $10 for a proper ending. Please, do it. I'll pay. Wholeheartedly.

Look, there's no way it'll play out this way. The audience at PAX won't let them stay silent.
Here's why they need to have some answers on the ending ready. Somebody will ask about the ending. They'll say no comment. The audience will boo. Somebody will ask about the ending DLC in a different way "will voice actors be involved. etc" Bioware will shoot them down. People will boo. All of this will be recorded on youtube. The media will pick up on it and use the fan outrage for new stories. The Pro-Bioware sites will blast them as entitled fans, especially if somebody does something stupid. Those who are more skeptical ending will be use it to discuss the failure of Bioware's PR.
Either way, the story won't die. Fans will be even more skeptical. "You want me to buy this DLC on the hopes your new ending will fix things... but you won't tell me anything about it?" The story will get another cycle or two of coverage.
It would be better for Bioware to stand up, defend the ending, explain the clarification/closure DLC, and try to "level" with fans. They might actually have a shot at salvaging their brand in the long-term. I assume they'll realize this. But, hey, I've been wrong before.
But PR will spin it as, "some" raving fans and Bioware doing right by the other "minority" of upset fans by releasing the "free" extended cut. The youtube videos of this scenario will play well with all upset fans, but unless the rage carries on through the summer, the bad press disappears and the Press moves on to the next story. Bioware/EA's PR is *sadly* playing more to the press than they are to the fans at this point.

Bioware: any questions?
Fan 1: *asks question about ending*
Bioware: anyone else?
Fan 2: I think you should answer his question.
Bioware: We aren't going to answer any questions about the endings. Next question?
Fan 3: Answer the first guys question!

Un-****ing-believable.
Merizan goes on to say that they won't be discussing it because PAX is supposed to be a "celebration of gaming."

If you think Bioware failed at PR you guys are completely wrong, its a huge success for them. They broke the protest group completely, dividing them to people who are fine with the upcoming DLC and people who still would like a new ending, while making sure anyone who still "cries" about the ending is a whiner (This includes PAX tomorrow). That way, most of the press will look at EA and Bioware as some sort of a saint, whilst it is not really the case. Its a win win situation for Bioware, press is sided with them while the line is broken.
Yep. For now.
But long-term? Complete and utter failure.
Especially when the ME3 ending veneer wears off completely and people start referring to gimped endings as having been "Mass Effect 3'd".

Well, ME3 is a pretty awesome game and worthy of celebration. But I'll repeat what I said before:
I've been pretty lenient with Bioware so far, I think.
But even I, who is not a PR expert, know that refusing to talk after a major announcement is CRAZY.
I work
in Sales. I deal with Customer Complaints every day. Yes, the company
I work for tells me "how far" I can go when it comes to dealing with
complaints. But I at least TRY to come across as genuine, un-scripted
and natural.
There is the word.
NATURAL.
This
PR release, even the mini FAQ , sounds forced, cold and lacks the warmth
I remember from earlier Bioware announcements about DLC, esp.
FREE ones. (I still APPRECIATE and WELCOME the DLC however!)
Even
I know that artistic integrity is all fine and good. THINK IT, if you
must, don't say it when you KNOW it'll upset people. It's as easy as
that. Learn from Cicero and HIS polemics, THAT is how it's done if you
MUST go down that path.
Why NOT discuss it?
Everyone knows the endings by now. There is no spoiling danger.
Ms. Merizan mentioned that they cannot discuss stuff to make sure they don't promise stuff they cannot deliver.
All well and good. But: Call me crazy, but I think the devs KNOW what they can or cannot do by now.
I do not mind the endings. I am OVERJOYED at the DLC.
But
this PR move is so utterly ill conceived, it makes my mind boggle.
Bioware, PLEASE, if you ARE listening, RECONSIDER. Don't hide behind PR.
TALK to us at PAX. COMMUNICATION is the ABC of good PR and Customer
Relations. All your good intentions, which I do not doubt at all, will
go to waste if you ignore this issue. So please, if you CARE, if you are
LISTENING and if you want the storm to even out, TALK. COMMUNICATE.
STOP STONEWALLING!
