Someone is going to get hurt if they don't say anything at all about the endings...
I kinda feel pity for whoever will be there...
Oh well~

No Omega remaining as both the relays went boom, but if they mention it, it`s a nice door opener for the space magic question about the eding :)

Well, sad but unsurprising.

Standard PR "weathering the storm" BS.

It's obvious that they don't care about actually winning back our hearts. They wanna sway public opinion, repair some of the damage to their public image and sales and then continue as if nothing happened.

Missed chance, Bioware

Haha you've obviously never been to an angry fan panel before. Take a look at what goes on at WoW panels at Blizzcon for example. You (and I) may not have the stones to rage to a devs face, but there are many people that do.

I'd pay to see someone bring their lawyers in to scream at BW :bandit:

Funny how they were obviously trying to calm fans down before PAX with that announcement, but they end up adding more fuel to the fire. :)

can you honestly blame them?

Well... yes.  They're a business.  We're not school chums having a fight.  I'm tired of being held at arm's length.  That's why they get no more money from me until they show they are once again capable of quality and honesty.

Yeah, well, f*** you too.
Sorry if that came off as rude, but so does this.
What is probably the biggest announcement you could make about your game, that your official announcement has been either contradicted or largely muddled by personal Twitter messages so as to become confusing, and the thing that we were all waiting for - and you just decide not to talk about it?
Well, its a good thing we've got our people there at PAX too. If any of you who are going read this - when you get to the questions stage, ask if they have any comments on this extended cut DLC. If they don't, then just stand up and leave.

I'm actually worried an over the top angry fan will try to rush the panel.

I don't think calming fans down is what EA / BW wanted at all.  I think this is a good PR move set to do the following:

-- Divide the "hold the line" movement
-- Get some yahoo or two at Pax to do something dumb so they can paint the entire Retake movement as extremists
-- Be seen as responding to fans when that doesn't appear to be what's going on at all

Do they honestly believe that they're going to be able to keep people from bringing this issue up at the panel?

This will NOT end well Bioware.

Oh, they can do that. How convenient.

Then I'll take my money elsewhere.

They can rage, its pointless as long as the product sells. Fact is they are a drop in the pool. I dont like the endings either to be clear.

This is going to be the shortest panel ever.

"Can you say something about the endings!"

"We cannot say anything about the endings at this time."

"Can you say anything about the DLC!"

"We cannot talk about upcoming DLC at this time. ...Does anyone have any non-endings or DLC-related questions?"

*awkward silence*

*sympathetic cough from somewhere in the audience*

"...So, who was your favorite Mass Effect character?"

*room empties*

Haha.  No, I'm sure they'll have planted people in the audience to lob a bunch of softball questions. <_<

I have no doubt this panel will be filled to the brim with paid employees of EA to softball bioware. It's not the first time they've hired actors. They did it with Dantes Inferno, they hired people to act like outraged religious fanatics protesting the game, so they could get attention.

Panels have been KNOWN to be raucous. If Bioware wasn't ready to talk then they should have skipped PAX altogether.

Ok, that's fine. I was just disagreeing with your assertion that no one will be angry at the devs in person. Whether that anger will achieve anything is a different issue.
