Did no one see this coming?

This is PRECISELY why they released information yesterday - so they can just defer any and every question related to the ending to the press release.

It SOUNDS brilliant on paper, until BioWare realizes that it's going to be impossible avoiding the inevitable - otherwise why even bother to have a panel? They're absolutely afraid of getting slaughtered at PAX in front of thousands and thousands of people.

Ok, that's fine. I was just disagreeing with your assertion that no one will be angry at the devs in person. Whether that anger will achieve anything is a different issue.

Oh no there will be hate at pax. I will bet cash on that. I do not think its productive.

I will just drop this in - part of the flak ME3's endings got was due to the hype and grand statements beforehand about how good they would be.

I can't really blame them if perhaps they're trying to avoid a similar situation here, by not promising the moon and throwing out lots of details about it.

That said, I still think it's a shame they won't be offering up any more info at all at PAX. I'm interested in the other things, such as MP DLC, but it seems a missed opportunity. An opportunity perhaps to calm down some people that are furious about things that may actually be getting addressed in the extended edit.

You hit the nail on the head.

They will likely still field questions on the ending we got, but they just won't have any more details on Extended Cut. Because it's not finalized yet.

They're going to stonewall everyone at that Panel, and leave early because nobody gives a damn about anything else they're going to do.

Except like maybe the three people who troll the forums by (blindly) supporting the original endings. Well, when you add them, Bioware is likely only going to take questions from those three so they can - later - say they took in player feedback.
