I have one response to this:

"Uh... okay, Beavis."

Seriously: their PR is terrible. Just terrible.

What would you have them talk about? They've made the announcement. Should they re-announce it? Provide exact details of the content?

That would be a start, yeah.
Then perhaps I can finally determine whether I am actually seeing Bioware flipping me the bird or I am just imagining it.

That's so lame...

The thing is, if they "clarified" more of the details about the Extended Ending DLC, they could possibly make a number of fans a lot less pissed off.  If they addressed the kind of things Jessica Merizan has been tweeting about today - e.g. possible Shep/crew reunification, repairing the relays, etc. - then people who are angry about today's announcement might calm down a bit.  They're taking an opportunity for good PR and booting it out the window.

I'd like to think it's because they don't want to over promise again, but the part of me that works in marketing suspects that the announcement was an attempt to preempt possible furor. If so, announcing something big but vague then trying to avoid it during a panel the next day is not how our company at least would advise them to do it.

So apparently Bioware wants to "die". This is probably the stupidest f***ing move they could do next to telling their fan base to screw off.

Who was asking: "why they made the announcement right before PAX"?

I didn't read that they were not discussing the ending at all, just not going to give out all of the details of the dlc.

I wouldn't put a, "NANANAWECANTHEARYOUNANANA10/10NANANAARTISTICINTEGRITYNANANA below them, though.

And so goes the Mass Effect series...it goes down like the Hindenburg because the developers felt they were too good to address their fault. Shame because this series had the potential to be the best experience I've had so far alas "artistic integrity" won't allow that.

I would like to thank those thieving bastards at EA for ruining another good series and the bean counters at Bioware for following EA like a lamb going to slaughter

Not even a mention about extended cut DLC, like what we can expect from it? Wow. I really am done with this.

Wow.

Why don't you want to talk about it Bioware? Could it be cause you have no idea how to explain the endings? Just keep hiding from fans. I'm sure that will turn out well for you.

Any Attending Gamer can use this Panel to help imply to the Developers and other guys in the panel how thin the ice their on at the moment.

All they need to do is not clap when the panel starts.  Keep asking questions about why the ending inserts a character that had nothing to do with the other 2 games and your giving 3 options that are obviously traps intended by the reapers to control the outcome of the last cycle.

Basically all three ending means betraying people and if you played SHepered as someone who would never betray anyone you don't have the option of putting your faith in your allies and not the Reaper or a being using an image of someone the Commander feel guilt over.

I do wonder if the entire crowd start's booing would that give a bigger reactoin.  Bioware needs to save face and talk to the gamers about the problem now.  Instead of say their listening to the post's on the forum.  If they ask the question face to face with their panel they may get something done or at least make us less angry at them.

So far their just making us even more angry at them.

This maybe the fist time the Gamers are actually organizing together because they dislike a story and forming a boycott because of this.

So basically they're sticking their fingers in their ears and going LALALALALALALALALA at PAX? What a very mature way to handle the mess you created.

Ok, I can understand not wanting to go into details about the "DLC" but sheesh... ignoring it all together?

Yeah, that's gonna end well.

Funny, that's all the questions will be about...

They just going to sit there?

Remind me why they're even having a Mass Effect panel? If they have nothing to announce and wont talk about endings... theres no new game out... why even be there? Just have the Austin SWTOR team there.

Yes, its not like its something that needs to be done in secret. Does it have game play? Is there a “golden” ending;

GUY A: “0_o. So...there is hope for that "golden ending" after all? I did my very best to try to have shepard and crew survive.”

Jessica Merizan ” yes but with some sacrifices depending on the end you chose. Ending is never perfect but Shep/crew reunited is possible J”

This implies that but than this

Jessica Merizan “please find a tweet where I literally promise a gold ending. That term doesn't even mean the same thing to everyone J”

COPOUT, but I digress, just some basic clarification, on their clarification would be nice.

Sorry to throw you under the buss Jess.

Bioware before launch: "Lots of speculation from everybody!"
Bioware after launch: "Too much speculation! They're speculating all about our flaws!"
Bioware at PAX: "We are not going to talk about your speculations. Keep your speculations to yourselves."

Well, they might not talk about it at the panel, but it seems naive to think the audience isn't going to talk about it. How well is their panel going to go when they get to Q&A and anyone in the audience who isn't a 'games journalist' doesn't want to ask about anything other than the DLC announcement?

All it takes is a simple announcement before the Q&A: "We are working on dlc at the moment, but will not be answering any questions pertaining to the endings at this time."

And then they can just repeat that line to any audience members who try.

Idiotic to say the least...I'm still trying to figure out why they're making a thread for us to suggest changes when they're not even listening.

SHHHHHH they listen, but they ask your opinion just for being polite. They have ARTISTIC INTEGRITY, and ARTISTIC VISION, our opinions won't matter on THE HOLY ART.

can you honestly blame them?

look at the outcome after the dlc was announced today

no matter what they say fans are gona still be the same if not worse.

tbh and im not saying this to be funny but i wouldnt be suprised if the bioware panel was protected by security because some fans can indeed be a bit out of controll
