This is a major embarrassment for Bioware. I am not surprised that they won't talk about it. I just hope the DLC does something of merit.
This really reminds me of back in the day when Deus Ex 2 came out. I was a huge fan of part 1 and I went to e3 to check out 2. After an extended playthrough, I saw that it was very very bad. I made a forum post on it. But I was largely ignored and called a naysayer. Then it came out and people saw it was crappy. The same dev excuses btw. Even though the faults in Deus Ex 2 were actually owed to being designed for the XBox1 (hence the small levels because of limited hardware and the simplified rpg system because of the console audience of the time) the dev team still claimed they were persuing an "artistic vision" or some nonsense.
Its an easy excuse and devs will cling to it rather than actually addressing the reality.
In any case, we have a lesson we have learned: we must now be cautious with Bioware products. Whether this is because of their new "artistic visions" (less likely) or because of EA meddling (more likely) is insignificant. Do not buy anything until some REAL reviews come out. No pre-orders... no release day buys... Ignore IGN and the mainstream press. They are yesmen. Wait for real gamers to put in their 2 cents.
Also, wait for the DLC. I have faith that Bioware will do good here. They have alot riding on this.
