I've never played any of the Witcher games, but I really like how this sounds (see, Bioware, treating your fans will make you money in the end). Where can I get in on this?

And whose fault is that? The decision to sell ot EA was just that, a decision.

This.

Also, because my PC chokes whenever I so much as highlight the shortcut. Goddamn, but they weren't kidding when they said this game is resource-intensive.

Geralt is the furthest thing from your description, with exeption to being white-haired.

Well, the games are based on books about "The Witcher", so there really is no way for them to change that.

However, their future games, i believe, will be more open to customization.

On a side note, cusomizable character doesn't necessarily mean better game.

CD Projekt and valve both great.  biotronic arts   not so much
half life = art
witcher = art
me3 = rushed garbaged thrown together so they can focus on micro transactions for multiplayer.  And why settle for 15 bucks for dlc that takes months to make when they can take 10 seconds to make a new shiny hat for turans in multiplayer and sell that for 15 a piece.  Sad thing is thats what most of you want new shiny hats not engaging works of art.  Most popular item is swtor is karaggas hat......   Simpsons did it best. Malibu Stacy with New hat.  And people just throw their money at them.
CD will continue to get my money valve as well   EA not a dime    matter of fact i'm done here since there is no more hope for what was promised to us. I may only be one person.... but i'm not the only one and soon we will add up and ea will go under much to the delight of well  EVERYONE.

I've never played a CD Projekt game, but Netherrealm studios gave away free skin packs with every update to Mortal Kombat (these are often).  2k Sports releases comprehensive roster updates on a weekly basis in all of its sports titles.  EA Sports makes you pay for these.

After I played through the first Witcher game, also an enhanced edition that was completly free for those who already owned it. I have been a big fan of these guys, If not for Skyrim last year, Witcher 2 would have clearly gotten my vote for GOTY, an absoloutly amazing game. Sure it had some flaws, nothing even remotly close to the horrid ending of ME3, but what do you know, CDPR listened to their fans and are fixing everything that I found to be lacking with their game.

And today I had 2 announcements of importance, 1 was Bioware giving us the fans a small token that might be pointless as it might not fix anything really. It is still better news than them ignoring us.... But then CDPR announces that I got a free digital backup version of my game.... right out of nowhere, like the free enhanced edition with over 4 hours of extra content, and an extended new ending is not enough. And people did not even complain nearly half as much as the fans for ME has including me.

After I heard about the EE for Witcher 2 I was thinking it was to good to be true in this industry, now I am actually thinking of buying myself the enhanced edition just to give more money to this developer, even when I already own the game...

It is like, shut up CDPR and take my money! oh.. wait.. what... all this content is for free for those who already own your product?... well take my money anyways! :D

The problem with CDProjectRed is just that I'd like to make my own character a bit more. I know they're going with a hero based on books (even read on of them) and I know he lost his memory so you can make personality changes, but I just don't like him all that much as a protagonist.

Kinda OT, no?

And THIS again?

Yes, CDPR is the new Messiah. Blablabla.

(And this comes from an ardent Geralt fangirl)

For sure. I haven't played the Witcher games yet, but I've read a few of the novels. Geralt is a great character.

I imagine the doctors wanted to be rich, and decided to sell.  What EA bought, as is almost always the case in buyouts, was the soul of the company.  Buyouts almost never leave companies the same afterwards.  Sometimes that's good, but not usually.

I think Witcher 2 is a great game. I also enjoy the Mass Effect series.

Can I not choose both?

I preordered witcher 2 on XBOX - is the free dlc only on PC or will it be available on XBOX 360 too - and to answer the question - sadly I will currently take CD projekt given Bioware current attitude.

In character...I dunno. He doesn't have much of a personality in TW2.
