My question is: How much of that behavior you listed is what you've experienced personally from the community? You said that there were plenty of threads up, but not if you have encountered them and how often you did.

Thing is, it's one of the better online communities out there. It's not as elitist as Starcraft, and isn't as foul as CoD or Halo. BF3 and Left 4 Dead (1/2) have fairly decent communities on PC.

It's a shame about the Operation Raptor exploit, but now a fix can be made to correct it. As for the behavior of the communities, BioWare can only deal with cheaters. If someone is AFKing, then kick them out after the round is through or leave.

Honestly, it's not too bad - i have played games in the past that have had a much much much much much worse online community than this one.

The Bioware community as a whole is pretty stank.

Look at all the people who asked for their money back from Child's Play, or the idiots who actually voted EA as the worst company of 2012. Over the Bank of America. It's shaming, is what it is.

The internet community as a whole is bad and has a tendancy to complain about anything and everything and demonize any company that does something they don't personally agree with.

Additionally, I don't actually know what the Bank of America even did so I probably wouldn't be voting it worst company. I'm guessing it was tied to the economic crash somehow, but I'm not American, so I don't really follow your guys' news all that much.

FTFY.

Joking, though you should play with better Vanguards.  If you're upset that they can rack up kills on Bronze, then either communicate better with them or get over the fact that it's a team game.

I think the B.net forums are worse. Compared to there I find the BioWare forums to be pretty calm.

As i read the complaint about the community single thought i had was "he plays 360" besides the bull events not for ps3 my experience has been mainly good.

Corruption, fraud ( consistent fraud, actually ), deceiving homeowners, misappropriating customer funds, etc. Basically, MUCH WORSE things than the general bad business practices of any video game publishing company- let alone the real reason everybody voted for EA, which was because of Mass Effect 3's ending.

Racking up kills? They're racking up deaths.

Vanguards are the worst. It's hard to get a kill when a vanguard is in front of your line-of-sight, using Biotic Charge and Nova repeatedly.

So far I have mostly very good experiences.
Except for terrible players, I have not come across anyone I have a problem with.
And I don't really have a problem with terrible players either, we can't all be good. But it is frustrating.

But I have never come across a hacker, cheater, glitcher, leecher or someone being rude and annoying on the mic.

EDIT: I play PC, as most of you probably already guessed. :)

This is one of the best game communities I've been apart of. This the only game I've played on the xbox where I frequently use my mic and have not once been called a racial slur.

I spent six years playing online games on my PC, And I can honestly say the internet makes people who play video games, stupid. The general lack of relevant consequences coupled with anonymity afforded by the net itself means people hack, troll, insult and generally try to bully each other for no other reason beyond a juvenile sadism straight out of a high school gymnasium.

Have you ever heard a ten year old say 'suck it *itch' as he tbags someone in halo? I bet some of you have (with some variation) and that about sums up online gaming, some brat being a pig.

Thats why when I got a xbox it was with the intend to play mostly single player games, although I blame bioware for pushing me back into the online community :P

*shakesfist*

Then back to the first point: play with better Vanguards.  If you play on PC, my Origin I.D. is the same as my name on here.  Right now I'm focusing more on my Adept, Soldier, and Infiltrators, but I can show what a smart Vanguard can do if need be.

there is your problem im afraid mate, unfortunately most console games, X-box especially suffer from horrible communities. its a sad fact of life. I'm not by a long shot saying that PC communities are always better, far from it but usually the people who own PCs tend to be older and more sensible/less inclined to be offensive morons than their console counterparts and in my experiance this makes a huge difference to your enjoyment...

Funny thread OP.

Seem you never really played some Online Games. The game has no chat so there is not much conversation. The few people that use their microphone speak about the game like "use rocket" or "please leave gold match with N7 5 you are not prepared". The only dumb thing is that some people don't want low level chars in silver. In Gold okay. I would kick a level 5 vanguard with revenant and mantis too. but in silver the 1 bad player is not really important.

OP have you ever played Heroes of Newerth? One of the worst communities I know. I think you would commit suicide after one week with them when you think ME3s community is bad, but I love those guys. xD

In fact I believe: There is no real community.

I never play with those random guys again, never speak to them, never chat with them. I will never look for a group for an epic mission where we clear a big rachni cave to retrieve the data about a biological weapon off death and do some RP because my Femshep is scared of bugs or whatever. It is just starting a game rushing to the end for credits and hoping that your mates are using at least a small part of their brain.

Edit: And playing online on console is something that won't get in my head. It just feels wrong. Don't know why. I want my old Nintendo 64 back. good ol' times.

I don't know, maybe you haven't met great teammates yet. So far I'm satisfied with the multiplayer, yes, there are problems, either bugs or bad players who don't know cooperation, but I also met a lot of great people, makes you feel like a part of something great. So, just don't count all players out yet.

I've been hardened. If you want a bad community go play League of Legends. I've crawled from those dark pits of hell and have simply been enjoying Multiplayer here. If it were even bad, I couldn't see it.

I'm on PC, so this all is for that community.

I think that the community is fairly good. At least as a gold player most people in randoms seem to know that they're going to have to work together, and I actually haven't been kicked out of a gold lobby ever(I only ever use level 17+ characters), not even when I was playing a Soldier.

Of course, after seeing WoW's community, pretty much everything looks good in comparison.

I agree with you. But then again, WoW's community is really only people who try to be immature, people who troll the general and trade channels, and then the scammers and advertisement accounts.
And then, you've got your elitists, who only care for people who are as good as they are, or better.

Yup.  And WOW was easy.  Quit Genesis and all of wow for that matter after we downed Yogg with no keepers up.  All that game comes down to is a dance or rock paper siccors for PVP.

Same for this game, if you don't roll gold 24/7 you're a loser apparently by 60% of the members of this forum.  Which is kind of funny as I find the MP of ME3 to be a bit like a super lite MMO PVE Dungeon.  I see no stress in playing this game but it does annoy me when you have people who have no idea what the hell they're doing.

That's just how online gaming and the Internet is in general. It could be worse. It could be Call of Duty.
