I wonder if an extended cut means actual cut scenes or a text-based epilogue like how DA did it. It doesn't matter all that much to me just so long that I can say hooray, my Shepard saved the galaxy, got his girl, and left to continue his journeys out into the wild black yonder.

Would I like specific cutscenes that illustrated this. Of Course. But that isn't going to happen. Best that I'm hoping for is some really spectacular artwork to go along with the epilogue.

Anyway, my thoughts on the issue. And while it sucks that many ME favorites never got real closure I think BW is walking away from the ME series having learned a very valuable lesson. Don't make so many great characters, LI's, and squadmates unless you can do each one of them justice.

Edit: And again. Even if you're having a long term relationship would it really be too much to have a picture of your LI on your desk or table? It  worked out great in ME2 if your Shepard stayed loyal to their ME1 romance. Okay. /end rant

I think it might jsut be time to give up and move on.
Bioware lied to us, put that rediculous "buy dlc to 'continue' shep's journy" at the end of a rushed, photoshopped product they sold to us.

Another company in the trash thanks to whoever you want to point fingers at.

Last time I pre-order before reading user reviews - not paid-for reviews.

Immz,

I do believe you are one of the most annoying people on this forum. STFU. What do you want? Something spoon fed to you that is only acceptable if it makes YOU happy.

When you grow up you'll perhaps realize that this is a video game. It is all fantasy.

Your getting a free extension to the story, accept it and move on.

I would love to see 20 fans to gather together and write endings keeping a satisfying ending while all choices MATTERING in the way they want

That's already happened ten times over.

Care to share some links ?

None off the top of my head, my many stays in ME3 generals on both /v/, and /vg/ have been riddled with alternatives to the endings. I'm sorry I have nothing on hand to post.

Ahh, but alas, thank you kind sir for providing:

Cause i read one that had TIM turn into a Reaper Husk and Hrbinger begging for his life and ended with Shepard helping Tali building a home on Rannoch and it got all this "oh my god you're incredible" which to me sounded really dumb

Yeah... people like you who post about how others need to get a life and decide to troll them and insult them.
Join the discussion with constructive arguments/talk, don't just sit there and mock people with such arrogance.

Don´t you think this whole thing gotten to a point where its time to reflect and maybe set new prioritys and move on ?
If you feel so betrayed and hurt by bioware, why come back ? Its clear that they want to go in a diffrent direction than you do. Maybe ask yourself, what do i get from all this...?!

Ask yourself this, what do YOU get from sitting here and telling us to leave?

Moreover, why are you even here?

Like people who hang out on videogame forums telling other people to get a life? [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]

Yeah, those same people who feel that their special snowflake's take on the ending deserves it's own thread.  Despite it being the same recycled arguments as every other thread. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/ninja.png[/smilie]

And why do we do that? Oh, that's right, because some people still don't get it.

Stamping your feet and screaming the same thing over and over?  Yeah, that's a "discussion" worth participating in.

Right, I'm not trying to elicit a dialogue out of you.

I'm pointing out to all those people spamming every thread with "JUST WAIT AND SEE GOD HAVE FAITH" why we have every right to complain now, before it's released. In the hope that something gets DONE. If you wish to sit there and tell me that I'm doing nothing, consider that you're doing no better.

Why are you in this thread? I'd actually like to know. To tell people to stop posting the same topic? By doing that you bump my topic up, and give it more views and thusly more posts. If you think this topic doesn't belong here, report it. What do you gain by posting against me?

personally, i think its foolish to believe in anything to do with bioware. ME1 and i suppose DA are the only games of biwoares id recommend to anyone to play.

i dont even know why i come here anymore. the only reason i check this forum is because ive been doing it for 5 years now. its like i have this false hope im going to get something satisfying, when i can gaurantee whatever lazy ass attempt bioware makes with this DLC, want make me happy.

can i play a game made by the exact group of people that made ME1? please, pretty please!!!!!

I've made clear what I want. Everybody has.

This is not just a video game, it's the finale to a trilogy that has costed people hundreds of dollars, time, devotion, and emotional investment.

Maybe when you grow up you'll learn how to read posts properly, and maybe even understand why we're all so mad at Bioware's response (or lack thereof) to the fans.

Just because it's free doesn't mean anything. Many of us have said that we would pay for a better ending than keep the one we have for free. It's a non-argument.

I care about this game. Anybody who does would understand our frustration.

also while im here im not quite sure where your getting the impression that every one is 'so mad about biowares response' I for one do not feel this way and i am just grateful that they are trying to address the issue....other developers would have told you to deal with it and that the end was the end.

Insulting people is not a participation. I like many people here have my own life, family, job, friends, and you're not the person who have rights to judge others. Good riddance!

and theres your problem.

"devotion"
"emotional investment"

in a video game ?????????

your problem isnt the game, its your mental state and what you invest emotions in.

most of us buy the games for entertainment,to us its just that...sporadic entertainment, its not a living breathing being or something you are supposed to invest emotions in.

thats supposed to be reserved for real life and people...NOT a video game :crying:

No other developer has crafted a series like Mass Effect with the main advertising point being "The choices you make matter" and then go back on that entirely to remove any semblance of choice having an impact whatsoever.

all im saying is maybe you should just be grateful that they are attempting to address the issue at all, and as a bonus not making you pay for it, if you're really that angry about it i suggest you dont download it or perhaps....you could wait until it comes out and see what you think..pahahaha

I'm just curious, how would you want the ending to happen ? besides" no closure, plotholes etc.." how would you have preffered it to end ? just from the top of your head give me a few ideas that sounds better than the ending we've got

Yeah that's just great. Looks kinda like "They hate our endings? Let's give them more of it!" Like somebody said in some other thread, they are trying to cure cancer by expanding it.

My mental state is in question here because I care about this game? Honestly? It's now bad to actually be effected by a story you craft yourself?

When you get immersed in a story to the point of feeling emotions while you experience it, then that story is good, video game or not. Have you ever seen a really good movie, one that moved you and drove you to tears in certain scenes? Multiply that by about 100 hours, and you get Mass Effect. The whole POINT of the game is to immerse yourself and care about what happens to the charaters and universe.

For all of that to be ripped to shreds unreparably is upsetting.

Being upset because of that does not mean I'm mentally unfit to play video games. In no way.

That's not very true i have seen people claiming to want more closure and explianation on post-endings, so don't try to make it as a fact that everyone hated the endings

Wtf? Of course I'll reserve final judgment once I see it myself. It's free stuff. Why the hell wouldn't I check it out? I'm a Mass Effect fan and had a terrific experience, until the fall in the last minutes.
If they can ease the pain enough so I can be able to bring myself to ever be able to put everything behind and enjoy Mass Effect again, please, I love Mass Effect.

IT'S FREE.

You can do whatever the hell you want though. lulz.

As I recall, they actually made changes to the ending based on feedback from that leaked script. The fanbase more or less got what it asked for.

We asked for our choices to matter.

Not one person can say with a straight face that this is the ending that they wanted.

Our choices did matter. Perhaps not in the way you wanted, but they did matter in what options you were presented with in the ending. If you did really bad, you won't even get a choice in the ending. You'll stop the Reapers but torch Earth in the process.

Yes, your choices being reflected by war assets is still your choices mattering. Is it optimal? Perhaps not. But they did not lie on that point.

You're not getting it. Why are you possibly defending them?

You seriously think that all of these 'heavy choices' that we made throughout the series should be handled as a tiny little number in the gigantic climactic finale? You're so bogged down with semantics. Technically, we weren't lied to, our choices add either +25, or +0 to the final battle. They merely took everything from the first two games, reduced it to dust, and said "BUT THEY STILL MATTER SEE THAT NUMBER? IT'S HIGHER NOW. LOOK JACK GAVE YOU 25 ASSETS!"

Our choices boiled down to one ending with slightly different hues.

If you think that's what we asked for, hoped for, invested all this time into the series for, and then think that Bioware's actually completely in the right for it, I apologize on your behalf. It must be horrible not being passionate about anything.

I know.

Just like the Mass Effect 1 and 2 endings...it's such a crime that our choices boiled down to something like that!
