We NEED to wait for the DLC to come out. That is the only way for us, as fans, to be fair to Bioware. They don't have to even release this at all. They are doing this as a tribute to the fans (and gratis no less). Judging this summer's DLC based on a perception of what will be in it isn't fair to Bioware. Doing so is failing to be objective about the content itself, and is instead judging the book (DLC) by its cover (this announcement).

For those who haven't read the 'Extended Cut' announcement or Casey Hudson's comments about the extended cut, let me reiterate:

-The press release states that there will be "additional cinematics and epilogue scenes."
-Casey Hudson stated that they are working to "provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player."

So the choices will matter, and things will be explained.

Yeah that's just great. Looks kinda like "They hate our endings? Let's give them more of it!" Like somebody said in some other thread, they try to cure cancer by expanding it.

No, it is. Everyone who actually cared about Mass Effect's lore and story hated the endings. Literally everyone. I don't believe a single person actually wanted this ending expanded, they wanted change, or at the least Bioware to admit that they ruinned their own series.

...I'm pretty sure that this DLC IS Bio's way of saying they mucked up the ending and now they are trying to amend it....or have you ignored that factor...and also I am a HUUUUGE fan of this series and the ending made me pretty angry but  just because my opinion differs from yours regarding bio's response it doesnt make you right, or allow you to say EVERYONE else is wrong. BOOM

They're not saying they mucked up the ending. They're PROUD of the ending. Have you not read their official statement? They're trying to pacify us for being so discontent with their artistic mastery, that they're giving us a cinematic, that will only expand on the plot-hole riddled, lore ruining ending.

They're very much proud.

AGAIN i say...just because its your opinion doesn't make it right....If they didnt think they'd gone wrong with the ending then they would leave it as it is and we wouldnt be having this conversation...its evident that you haven't got any valid points of argument and are just some one who has invested too much 'emotion' and 'devotion' in this game and should probably try going outside a bit more???

You just said that Bioware must be acknowleding they messed up the ending. Presented with the fact that they are proud of the ending, you now say that they have a right to be proud.

You never were getting additional endings, the fact that they are deciding to alter the original ending is honestly more than what they can do, especially considering they own the product.

And no, because they own the product, you own a disk. Under the grounds of the EULA, they technically don't have to do anything to their product since you are borrowing the right to use it.

As for you never were getting part, I could have told you this weeks ago. They won't change the ending because it is the one they wanted to do. Other games that have changed endings have done the same thing, clarification or extension, such as Fallout 3 and Borderlands. 

so changing was never really going to happen. It was a fallacy to think so to begin with. Sorry to be cynical, but we know it's true.

You obviously lack the interlect to understand what i said so ill put it plainly....bioware are proud of there endings as they worked hard on them, but upon release we all hated them, now they have realised this and have amended the ending as they have realised we all hate it and its rubbish but are still proud of it.

an example to make it even easier for your simple mind is a musician can spend ages writing a song which when released every one hates...but the can still be proud that they wrote it.

As I recall, they actually made changes to the ending based on feedback from that leaked script. The fanbase more or less got what it asked for.

They merely took everything from the first two games, reduced it to dust, and said "BUT THEY STILL MATTER SEE THAT NUMBER? IT'S HIGHER NOW. LOOK JACK GAVE YOU 25 ASSETS!"

Our choices boiled down to one ending with slightly different hues.

If you think that's what we asked for, hoped for, invested all this time into the series for, and then think that Bioware's actually completely in the right for it, I apologize on your behalf. It must be horrible not being passionate about anything.

When the script was leaked and everybody freaked out because of how horrible it was, you said "Wait for it to come out before you complain! Bioware knows what they're doing!"

When the demo was released and everybody complained about the horrible animations and graphics, you said "Wait for the actual game to come out! It's JUST a demo it's not supposed to look good!"

And LOOK at what followed:
 - The story comes to the worst conclusion in any video game series
 - The final game is riddled with horrible animations, sprites, and horrible textures.

We waited, and our worst nightmares came true. 

So now with DLC coming out that clearly states that it will not change a single thing about the absolutely disgusting ending, everybody is up in arms because Bioware is completely ignoring everything we have put forward to them.

While we're trying to force Bioware's hand in actually FIXING their own game that they slaughtered in front of our very eyes, you have the audacity to tell us to simply wait, trust, and (god forbid) have faith in Bioware that they'll actually construct something decent out of expanding the ending that, once again, took the entire Mass Effect trilogy and drove it into the ground, you insist that we sit idly by and let this atrocity happen.

No. Enough is enough. We've waited. We've "reserved" our judgment until release too many times to have any faith left in this company. So no, we're not just going to sit back, shut up, and let Bioware squeeze out another insulting abomination on our faces like they have several times.

Curious...what else are we going to do while they build the DLC? I've got Skyrim to keep me busy...work, um, more work, trying to keep my house from falling apart around me...old pos, entertaining my wife, um...camping? BiowarEA will not fool anyone by pulling a FU out of the hat, so it's in their best interest to get this right...or risk hurting DA3 even more. I'm also sure they want to release some other DLC's for ME3; to do that, they need to get this out of the way.

Sure, let me just take my 100+ hours of time I put into this series, and simply put it somewhere else!

what if you end up putting an extra 100+ hours and it just ends up in disappointment? It's easier to just find different entertainment, and transitioning to something else speaks much louder to corporations than fan requests/demands/threats.
