My main problems with the endings were their abruptness and the plot holes introduced (Joker flees the battlefield, the fact that the destruction of the relays should destroy Earth, the fact you can't mention peace with the Quarians and Geth) If this at least explains what's happening and why, then I'll be okay with it, or as much as I can be.

I also think this does allow for a "happy ending" if you chose destroy and there is some way to get to your crew.

As for the fact that Shepard would tell the Catalyst to ****** off --- if you try just standing their, you eventually get a Critical Mission Failure saying the Crucible has been destroyed. And since it's pointed out many times that the Reapers can't be defeated conventionally, and since the force gathered at Earth represents the bulk of the galaxy's military force (if not literally all of it) is losing the battle and will be wiped out in a straight battle, not firing the thing would not only mean all sentients organics will be wiped out, but the cycle will continue. So I can see Shepard picking it as the lesser of two evils at least.

And truth be told, yeah, I would have liked an ending where you just kick Harbinger in the nads, but it looks like that's not going to happen. So I'll take what I can get.

Oh, I meant to add --- at this point, the odds of a completely different ending seem slim to none. I think, for those who are still unsatisfied, the only thing you can do is not buy the next Bioware game that comes out.
