I'm pretty well versed in how publishers work. I even said that EA has influence in how games are developed. But to blame EA for destroying the franchise... That's a serious leap. I can't prove they didn't, but there's no way to prove they did, either. While I don't agree with many of their decisions, to claim that they intentionally guided one of the best selling and most loved franchises in the history of gaming into a flaming pit of ruin is just asinine. That would be the equivalent of saying a car dealership's owner took a bat to every single car on his lot for the sake of profit.ahandsomeshark wrote...

Another SimCity? I wonder if it'll be more involved than the last one that came out?
And I have no reason to boycott EA. EA is just the financial backer. Yes, they have some influence (sometimes a lot) in how a game is developed, but even EA couldn't coerce someone into destroying an entire franchise with ten minutes of game play.
I think you need to do some some research on how EA, and publishers in general work. That's in no way true. EA has done it with tons of studios rushing crappy products to try and meet quarter deadlines for their stock reports. They've killed tons of IPs and a few small studios.

The Moses of game developers needs to approach EA, demand that his studios be let go, and then part something with its divine power.

I will not be buying any of those game. But I did buy Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning before I got Mass Effect 3 and I recomend Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning if you like Fable or Skyrm.
i honestly hope the EC won't suck so i can start playing BF3 or amalur... but if it does then there are other developers & publishers worthy of my cash...

Pretty much the same for me. The only one I had been considering on that list was Overstrike (and I bought KoA before ME3 came out)UrdnotGrunty2 wrote...
I wasn't going to buy any of those and I will know for sure not to pick them up now

EA has to submit to the will of the people anyway. If they do not, they will die out.

Most likely people will rationalize this entire situation by thinking somehow that DLC does not help EA.
They will be dead wrong of course.

Nah I'll probably rationalize it by thinking "I want that."
Which is how I rationalize most game purchases.
