Seriously, I can't begin to say how much I hate this. Would it be that hard to add in? It ruins any form of communication unless you have a mic.

You can check anyones equipment and loadout, their class and level and ask question thru mic. Kick them if you feel like they will be burden.

It becomes especially appearant in the lobby when you spot someone trek around the most redicilous loadouts and you want to correct them

This would be nice. I'd prefer not to voice my opinions thick with exasperation and mild contempt about an Adept/Engineer/Vanguard who are carrying enough weight to bring them down to -125% minimum, after talents.

As long as there are tools to put people on ignore. I remember CS text chat was mostly people being needlessly rude or annoying. With mics the e-thugs at least have to talk. Haven't had any problem individuals.

Make it like in Crysis 2. The text is small font and appears in a small area on the left side by fading in, then it fades out. You only read it if you pay attention to it, it never grabs your attention in the middle of anything that matters.

I'd rather not have to deal with 12 year olds shouting and swearing at me through text as well as a headset.

I usually listen to music when I play, so it's difficult for me to hear people with mics. Even when I don't have music playing, the in-game sound tends to drown out peoples' voices. Text chat solves these problems. There's really no reason not to include it in the PC version.

Implementing text chat doesn't seem to difficult and would probably be more profitable for Bioware. People would find interest in the game longer and play more often, meaning more packs will be bought with real money.

There is incentive to apply this for everyone. Of course, it's what I want as well.

I prefer to chat than talk on the headset actually. It'd be nice because I don't like using the mic all the time as there are days you just don't want to talk out loud at the screen.

I also prefer not to use a headset and it would be nice to say something (non-offensive) back at the guy calling me a retard over voice.

Another problem is: Half the damn time I can't understand people and it's all staticky. I hear stuff, but it's all junk. Text doesn't depent on mic quality.
