Text chat would be useless ... By the time I recieved it and read it I'd probably be dead and it'd easily be way too late for it to have been of any use. Not to mention the time it would take for you to type it .... Well yea you'd probably die too.

A. Chat on multiplayer games is not primarily intended for tactics, it's meant to be used to just talk to your team casually.

Don't care about in-game chat, but lobby chat is very necessary

So far it's been fine without it, it would only be used pre-game and for what exactly?

You can check anyones equipment and loadout, their class and level and ask question thru mic. Kick them if you feel like they will be burden.

A lot of people play without a mic and they play like crap.  Without text chat, it's not possible to talk them trough a match.

I'm all for implementing text chat, because some people have terrible mics or don't use them at all. Also I enjoy some friendly banter before the game or between waves. Sure, there will be trolling, insults and whatnot, but years of playing online shooters made me pretty resistent to such shenanigans and I usually get a good laugh out of it. B)

//Edit: And further, there is the possibility to actually give tactical advice to people without mics.

Also it would be far, far easier to copy/paste information about currrent bugs to lobbies that clearly do not read these forums.

ULM materils, Korgan Battlemaster rage, explaining shield-gate/armor. Or just a simple "Please visit social.bioware.com and join the ME3 Multiplayer Forum, it works with your Origin ID and has valuable information."

Unless you are on PC, why does this matter? If you are on PC, how hard is it to use a damn headset?

I can't help but laugh whenever I see a comment like this. It just shows how out of touch some gamers are. Many people don't have head sets, can't afford head sets, and don't want to use head sets. Some people don't like taling, some people don't WANT people to hear their voice for whatever reason, others aren't confident with spoken english, and some aren't in an environment where they can use it. I wouldn't use a mic at all because my boyfriend watches TV while I'm on the computer and I'm not self-centered enough to disrupt his enjoyment.

I'd like some form of text chat for PC, too.

Totally with you on this one!

Also how would people feel if I start talking on my own version of english that nobody but me can understand... or even not english at all? Generally text chat is a lot easier to ignore than voice chat!

Additionally I am an experienced PC user, I tend to do most of the things I do with keyboard. I can type almost as fast as I can speak, but then again, when I type something I don't have to worry if the microphone activeted correctly or if you heared everything.... it will be all up the other people if they want to read it or not.

I preffer text chat over voice chat, the only voice chat ive heard in public game are either A) <insert anything i dont understand like russian> or B) dimwit that doesnt have press-to-talk on and forces me to listen to his/her game sounds, usually so loud it makes you just quit the game and go through 100 FBW/Geth lobbies before you find something that aint FBW
