Exactly.  There are two endings
I wouldn't like for ME 3.  One being a random GOD LIKE force that saves
the Galaxy or another being that to defeat the Reapers, everyone has to
become a primitivst and destroy the Relays, Citadel, etc.  Both would
make me pretty unhappy as those endings have been done to death.

Humility? on the internet? Wow! But really op there's no need for an apology, the IT gave the little hope I need after I went through the ending.

No need to be sorry for defending your believes. IT while not perfect was still so much better then what we're stuck with! Why would you apologize for giving people hope and making them feel better? I thank you for being a part of the crowd that brought this theory to life. It gave me the courage to actually finish the game. You should be proud!

Besides, how exactly the new dlc is stoping IT from happening? Nothing has been confirmed or dismissed. We just have to wait and see. Might be wishfull thinking I know, but I still hope it can be fixed. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst :P

It’s a pretty fantastic theory in itself :)

I’ve been neutral about whether or not it’s been true. Felt down on Bioware if it was true, but never on the people who thought it up.

You guys tried to save your love for the franchise. Nothing bad about that.

Not over yet!!! I'm holding onto IT by a thin thread though. I consider IT an expansion of the ending we do have, not option 4 or a new ending.

Ok seriously when did bioware say that the IT is false in that statement . The fact that they Re not changing the current ending shows that the IT is still a possibility. So there is no need to apologise because nothing has been denied yet.0

I don't see a reason to apologize...I.T. basically gave my mind a satisfying conclusion, clarification and closure (The three big Cs! yay!) to Shepard's story. True, we don't see how she in the end overcomes I.T. and uses the mysterious power of the Crucible to wipe out the Reapers, but I'm fine with this by now, my mind has already made the pictures...

And if Bioware really thinks their "End" is true...well I pity them and anyone who believes this, I guess they got indoctrinated themselves on the way...

So no need to say sorry...I say thank you to everyone who came up with this fascinating idea!Image IPB

You meant well, and it's not your fault Bioware just isn't willing to spend the money to complete the game with an ending worthy of the franchise.

Seconded...

TO OP, I liked the IT you had, it could've given them a way out to actually make something new, but noooo, their pride have taken over their sense.

Not your fault.

I don't know if anyone already posted this, but the IT hasn't been declared invalid yet. It's not been confirmed either, but well, hope's the last one to die.

I wouldn't really put too much stock in what she says.  Something about Normandy crashed on Earth (2 moons, lol) then she changed her tune to Normandy crashed on Mars....

But I agree w/ everything else you said.  It hasn't been confirmed or denied, either way.

This is what I want to know : how will they (without Indoctrination Theory) do the following -

Twitter posts over the last day regarding "Extended Cut" from Jessica Merizan and the @Masseffect pages.

- No gameplay additions.
- No new endings. The new cutscenes are only clarifying the existing endings.
- No one starves to death.
- Shepard survives in the high-EMS Destroy ending.
- A reunion with Shepard and his/her crew is possible.
- Reconstruction of the relays is possible depending on your ending.
- It seems that they have not been informed whether or not EMS will affect the extended ending.
- Won't confirm or deny the indoctrination theory, but Merizan likes the idea.

I like the relays being reconstructed.. and I like the Shepard surviving (the breath was definiately Shepard then..) so I put this to you.. if Shepard survives the destroy ending, how the heck could he in any way be alive without IT?

No space suit.. no Lazauras project.. Maybe they are going to just show Shepard using the crucible as intended after he wakes up.. ?

How is Shepard still alive? Well if he was teleported to the Citadel, then maybe he was teleported back to Earth. He could not have fallen from the sky.

You have nothing to apologize for. When the real ending left me empty, IT renewed my hope. It is still my headcanon. I have little faith that Bioware's clarification will change my mind otherwise.

People told me I wouldn't be able to admit when Bioware told me IT was not true and asked if I would apologize..

So here it is.
I'm sorry I pushed indoctrination theory.
I'm sorry for the false hope I may have gave to you.
I'm sorry for when I portrayed IT as truth and not theory.
I'm sorry for implying that people who could not see it were confused
I'm sorry for saying you were wrong for thinking bad writing was the problem (turns out it is)

So there. To all of those who got comfort from thinking IT would solve thier confusion, i'm sorry for letting you down and plopping you back into the same pit of sorrow you came from, now with even more dissapointment.

I originally wanted to say sorry to Bioware, but they will never get that response now.

EDIT ADD:
I may not have been the first, but I was here from the start of it and was one of the major supporters of it. Not trying to claim that all the creativity behind it was from me. Many contributed to its great ideas.

Even if this ending DLC completely destroys the indoctrination theory I'll just refuse to buy it and continue on with the IT theory and remain in my own blissful little headcanon.

This.   Thanks to the community for making sense of the ending and providing closure.
Bioware, shame on you for missing the opportunity to do something truly exceptional with the closing of the mass effect universe.

He would have had to go ALL the way back to the beam on the citadel + the fact that he was in the primary explosion.

@ OP:
Theres no need to apologise.
The IT saved me from depressions.

m_k wrote...

Yes. The IT is still the only option that makes sense. I still believe it and will reserve judgement until the DLC is out.

I disagree.

Ain't this the right time to get involved into the DLC development as a community?
I admit... First we need more informations about BioWares Plans, but we shouldn't just lean back and wait till release.

This will be our last chance to give the Mass Effect franchise the ending it deserves.
And the IT is still our best way to do so.

To all who like the "Indoctrination Theory":
Don't stop voicing your opinion.

You meant well bro, take solace in the fact you thought up a better ending then Bioware within their own ending.

I'd have preferred it to be true myself even though I never really believed it.

It was an extremely well crafted theory and you should be proud that you and the other ITers were able to construct a better and more compelling ending than Bioware could.

Also it takes a certain extra something to man/woman up and admit when you made a mistake, particularly on the internet. Thats more important than winning a thousand arguments.
