dont ever say sorry for something you were better than them at, comes to a point when ur theory creative artistic values puts the mass effect teams endings to shame. if anything they should apologize to you for insulting you/us with there bad excuse for an ending/plotholes. id be delirius if i was you as you alone had a better ending then they did. celebrate by spending your money not on bioware and look down upon there inferior creative ways.

I didn't know you started it. Don't apologize, it made sense with what we were given. I was hoping it was true too.

I may not have been the first, but I was here from the start of it and was one of the major supporters of it. Not trying to claim that all the creativity behind it was from me.

Good guy OP, to me,

IT was beautiful, logical and won over my cold pessimistic heart with a beauty that reminded me of Einstein's general theory of relativity. It was THAT consistent with the observations in the game. It felt fool-proof.

So your theory made me hope, made me an optimist - that did never happen before, I'm not like that. IT remained a beacon of hope to me.

But as usual in the real world, reality can sting. And this time, it hit really good. Reminded me to never ever put my guard down again. Ever.

So it seems like my final Thank You, goes out to the creator of IT.

Well, kudos for admitting it.

That requires balls.

Still, though, the Indoctrination-Theory did exactly what I feared: Giving people waaaay to high expectations.

And this is the result. A forum in riot - when we should be celebrating.

Still though, this is the internet, and appologies are always a rare sight, so... kudos.

You have absolutely nothing to apologize for. You allowed a lot of us to make sense of the non-sensical.

Your efforts should be applauded.

The indoctrination theory was better than what they gave us. Too bad they actually think they did a good job.

One of the greatest strengths of character in my opinion is to admit error after being grievously wrong.

You always seemed like a cool guy to me, don't feel bad about it. Wrong happens.

Take note, BW.

they weren't wrong. Retake was. Why start this all over again? you lost. get over it

OP has integrity and feelings and passion. You "seem" to lack these fine traits and Shepard Has WONDERFUL FANS... why do I bother as your post suggests you live under a bridge with the other trolls.

If it's any comfort, IT will probably become "fanonized" in light of this new ending DLC stuff. We can always pretend that's part of the hallucination, too. ;)

If bioware knew well enough they would have stolen your idea -- apparently they think themselves too big to fail -- and at this point I don't think they care about artistic intregrety but rather money.

I know this because an artist's intent is to make work for an audience, and therefore their audience's opinion is vitally important despite a "vision" the artist might have.

At this point I think only resolution might be to stop buying their games, because that might be the only language from their fans that they comprehend these days.

Sorry, but who are you? Where is the debunk of the IT?

I don't follow.

No need to apologize, EA/BioWare should apologize to you. Even though I never believed that BioWare did any of what you theorized on purpose, I still pushed for IT because I saw it as the best way for them to salvage that mess of an ending. Apparently, they've chosen not to do that, but even if ME3:Clarity and Closure Edition sucks, I can still pretend that IT theory is true and write my own ending, like others before me have done.

People told me I wouldn't be able to admit when Bioware told me IT was not true and asked if I would apologise..

So here it is.
I'm sorry I pushed indoctrination theory.
I'm sorry for the false hope I may have gave to you.
I'm sorry for when I portrayed IT as truth and not theory.
I'm sorry for implying that people who could not see it were confused
I'm sorry for saying you were wrong for thinking bad writing was the problem (turns out it is)

So there. To all of those who got confort from thinking IT would solve thier confusion, i'm sorry for letting you down and plopping you back into the same pit of sorrow you came from, now with even more dissapointment.

I originally wanted to say sorry to Bioware, but they will never get that response now.

wish you were a writer for ME, IT would have been amazing. i mean it would have fit perfectly... anyhow dont apologise for a good idea.

@OP: You don't have to apologize to me at least. If it makes you feel better when I think about my own personal ME story it WILL end with IT and the aftermath of IT. That is my personal artistic liberty and I dare anyone to try to take that away from me. :)

Devil's Advocate: If you did throw stones at folks who were "right" then you could apologize to them. This is the honorable thing to do esp. if you believe that you wronged them. If they are "big" people they hopefully will accept the apology and move on as fellow ME fans should [IMHO].

You should just shut up.
And be proud of yourself. Truly.
You tried to make the last month worth something. Thanks to that great theory, which I so much prefer to what we have and will have from BW, we held the line.

You drew that line.
Be proud.
Shut up and hold it in your hands. Because right now... there are two lines. EAWare one and our. We have our own ending to Shepard's tale. And it's yours too.

Don't apologise. I wish that BW had debunked it sooner but I'm still glad to have known about IT, it was a decent theory.

What the heck, why is everyone bailing on the Indoctrination Theory?  If anything, today's announcement is a boost to IT.  If they had come out with an announcement saying they were scrapping the ending and writing a whole new one that takes the story in a different direction, that would have been the end of IT.  IT relies on the current ending.  It is built on it.  It is based on the idea that it was Bioware's intention all along.  I don't see how anything about today's announcement affects IT at all, except perhaps to make it more likely.

I'm sorry, you must feel very disappointed now.

Stepping up and apologizing...that takes character.

Personaly I didn't mind the theory, but the way some people were very insistent on promoting it. I don't think we crossed paths in a thread though.

That said, I did use it for my head canon and it helped take the pain of the endings away.

*hug*

Without any malice or ill intent...
..its over. they are not going to run with it. they elaborated more on what a "clarification DLC" means and it involes a few cutscenes and extra epilogue stuff (prob slide show like DA2)  no IT DLC.

The only thing you did was believe in Bioware and their ability to tell a great story, and I think we all believed that.

Exactly this.

Also: thank you. It was nice to have my hope restored for a little while, even if it turned out to be false hope. It's a difficult experience to lose faith in a company we've all loved for such a long time.

Its not your fault OP. You tried to make sense of the ending's' and like many of us, were in denial and still held on to the last shred of hope that Bioware was still the company we knew and loved. And that they would do the right thing. Not polish a turd.

Now we are even more shattered, and for me at least, Bioware is dead. Its not your fault, we felt the same way as you.
