yes, Bioware is the only game developer i actively follow so i'd buy more or less anything they release (as long as it's not a MMO)

Oh god no. Why so they can put me on another epic journey just to kick me in the balls with a steel toed boot at the end again?
If i ever buy it, it's gonna be used.

Some clear improvement in EA's business ethics needs to happen for me to give an unqualified "yes" to that question.Either that, or the "extended cut" actually somehow turning out to be something more than polishing a turd.
Assuming neither of the above is in the books, I can see myself buying the next game in the Mass Effect franchise.... when it's in the bargain bin at half price or lower.
Also, unless the "Extended Cut" turns out to do what I currently think impossible (justify the ending, and remove "space magic"), I've been put off buying future ME3 DLCs.

Maybe. Depends.
The only thing I know for certain is that I won't be pre-ordering it like I did 1, 2 and 3.

I'd rather have them expanding on ME3 for a long while instead of making new games. Expansions (real expansions) for say, twenty bucks, would be much more compelling than a new installment.
But that's just me.

I never preorder, I wait at least a week to let unbiased reviews trickle in, and I assess every game on an individual basis.
Because of this, the only time I get burned on a game is during a ridiculous steam sale. But that's lunch money, not $60.

There's no reason for ME4, the story is over...or did I miss anything?

Hahahh... you have to be kidding me.

it depends ...the series started off as a single player RPG but each follow-up pushes it further to being a multiplayer shooter
I'm the sort of gamer who sticks to single-player offline games, I love RPGsbut have mixed feelings over shooters (and have never been keen on FPSs)
so the series seems to be drifting further and further from my tastes
I will decide when I know more about ME4 (or whatever they call it)

I'll wait for the real reviews before I buy it.

Sure.
I'll miss Shepard though - but that just means the trilogy was good and powerful.
ME3 really is an excellent game if you ignore the last 0.5% of it. Easily the best of the series and quite likely the best they've ever made; and that's keeping BG in mind.
Keep up this level of quality, stay clear of primary colors and you're good to go for a new Mass Effect.

Pretty much this for me too. Loved ME3 all the way through until the endings that left me feeling a bit disappointed, won't stop me from enjoying another awesome Bioware-game though

Depends on what it's about since ME3 is the end of the Commander Shepard story. If it's an MMO, then probably not since that would be more PC based than for a console. If it's a game based on some of the other characters I would be inclined to possibly buy it. I'm not going to let an ambiguous ending wash away the hours of enjoyment I've had with the series. I'll wait and see.

I will most likely not purchase it considering the company's actions and reactions. No definites yet though, ME3 is still under works and ME4 is far off.

I'm going to have to wait to see what it's about, whether it's a prequel or set post-ME3, what characters they're using, what - what am I talking about? While I'm interested in all of that, I don't think that will change whether I purchase it or not.
Honestly, the answer is yes. I can't think of any reason in the world why I wouldn't step back into the Mass Effect universe immediately given the chance and opportunity. The answer is 100 percent yes. I'm there in a heartbeat. But for now, I'll keep enjoying Mass Effect 3 MP, DLC and of course, as a PS3 owner, looking forward to Mass Effect 1 so I can enjoy the entire trilogy. Those will hopefully help tide me over until Mass Effect 4 - or whatever they call it, but regardless, I'll buy it.

Yes, of course I will.
And if you liked their games enough to join a forum dedicated to them, then you should too. Yes, slip-ups happen to even such a high-calibre company as Bioware. Their next game could be the best yet. I enjoyed DA2, despite its flaws, almost as much as DA:O and I still think ME3 is atleast on par with ME2 (also despite its flaws and less than satisfying ending). I think we've given Bioware a rough go of things considering their track record. Time to move on and look forward to the future.

I see no reason to buy it, I see no reason to not buy it though. I'll treat it like any other game, if it looks good I'll give it a shot.
Also, do people seriously believe making free DLC is 'handling the outcry badly'?
