That's like being thankful to an author for shipping the last chapter of a book 5 months after the book itself came out. So of course I'm not. More than anything I'm astounded that they have any pride whatsoever in releasing an ending riddled with plot holes, contradictions, space magic, and just straight up nonsense.

All the stuff they're throwing our way for free has rekindled my love and hope for Bioware.
It was never truly gone - but it was embers - now the flames roar on!
People... You poop on them, but it's ok, because it's warm.

Also I think that the entire Multiplayer-Part might have played a significant role why we have this mess of an ending...talking about shortage of valuable ressources and wrong priorites. Does anybody really think the Multiplayer-Part is somewhat essential to the story of Me?
It would have been nice as a possible addon later...
So...thank you, I guess...but you can keep it, I don't have need for it...

There is no downside to this really. It costs nothing, adds clarification, and could possible fix the ending that so many people seem to have a problem with. I actually liked the ending but obviously people didnt and they did something about it. FOR FREE! so what if they didnt completely change it get over it its not going to happen. No other company in the world would do something like this so could all the people bashing them for doing something that is unheard of at least reserve judgement until it is released. Or until then get off the forums and take your games back or throw them in the trash. Its not going to happen so just let it go you are just wasting your keyboards vitality. They are not doing any other dlc until this is released which means no extra gameplay no extra multiplayer nothing. And they are doing it for you. How about some gratitude for once on this god forsaken website.
And another one who doesn`t inform himself before making statements.
This happened countless times before, without the community having to be so vocal bout it.
Bethesda were the last "big-rpg-company" wich got for somthing similiar attention (there might have been others, it`s just an example).
They, Bioware, have yet not done anything and if the press-release is correct they are not adressing what fans were upset about to begin with. But you are right, no one should judge things which do not yet exist.
They are doing it for themselfes..which seems logical->them beeing a company you know?
Since were talking bout "wasting your keyboards vitality" ..why exactly did you write this post? Do you belive you can convince someone to stay out of BSN? No you are a)just trolling
What exactly does this post have to do with Mass Effact 3 Story and Campaign Discussion (Spoilers Allowed)? Right..nothing..just spam.
Why is this website "godforsaken"? I`m kinda glad with it. You can have actual discussion with the majority of people without them sounding like 4-year-olds who have lost their favorite toy..but from time to time there are some annoying as hell trolls..gotta figure.
Some people realy should learn what "forum" stands for or what "discussing" means..can`t be to hard to understand, execpt you dismiss anything you don`t like as "whiny complaints" ..well then i get it.

There are perfectly acceptable metaphors out there already: 'incomplete/rubbish car','incomplete/rubbish meal' (can involve ANY food!!!!11), 'incomplete/rubbish novel', 'Bioware came to my home and murdered my entire family, then stole the family silver before kicking the dog on the way out and setting fire to the house'. 'The Itchy Sweater' was a particularly good recent one. Such a wonderful variety of ways to express hate and rage, and yet the **** sandwich/turd with sprinkles is the one I'm seeing nine times out of ten. Follow FemmeShep's example, folks. A little creativity goes a long way. <3

The MP was fun for a little while but gets boring rather quick and I'm tired of it so I don't care about that kind of DLC.
Suffice to say, I'd rather have paid for an 'appropriate endings' DLC or a full blown expansion pack that removes starchild and replaces him (or it) with outcomes based on decisions from all 3 games and the collected war assets (happy, good, neutral, bad, terrible) and builds an aftermath up on that.

Common sense... Could you honestly come up with a logical explanation that justifies StarChilds existence without sacrificing the necessity of ME1's 2 main antagonists (Saren & Sovereign) or even the whole plot of ME2? Well, I sure can't.

This is not the first time that a free "extended cut" is offered to gamers in form of DLC. The amazing CD Projekt RED did this too for The Witcher and The Witcher 2. They created a free DLC that was named "The Witcher: Enhanced Edition". With the Enhanced Edition (which was 100% FREE), CD Projekt RED delivered an amazing amount of new content that enriched their Witcher game. It gave us some clarification to the story where it was needed, some voice-acting was completely redone, the animations were improved and most of the gameplay bugs and flaws were fixed with the FREE Enhanced Edition.
Like I said, the stakes are high for BioWare. The CD Projekt RED already has proven how a free Extended Edition DLC can (and should) be done. If BioWare doesn't deliver the same amount of quality and quantity that CD Projekt RED did, then BioWare will lose the respect of many people.

By offering us a free Extended Cut DLC, BioWare made a step into the right direction. Whether they saved their asses with this free DLC remains to be seen. That fully depends on the content and quality of the free DLC. The pressure is high, the stakes are high and the expectations are high.

That would sound nice indeed, but I guess all we can do is wait and see what Bioware has done when it comes out. But looking at what you said, I'd like to see the Extended Cut DLC follow that path myself.

Have you played The Witcher 1: Enhanced Edition and have you seen what CD Projekt RED will offer us with The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition?
Check this trailer.
I expect the same amount of effort from BioWare with their "Extended Cut" DLC. If Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut doesn't get the same treatment as The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition, I'm going to be dissapointed.

if you have read anything at all about the extended cut then you already know that it's a DLC and not a revamp of the whole gameLuc0s wrote...

Well, even if that's the case, I still want BioWare to revamp the ending in a proper and thorough way.
To turn this messy ending into something that makes sense, BioWare needs to change some scenes, add new dialogue, add extra dialogue-options for Shepard, add new and extra scenes after your final decision and they need to add a new epilogue that clearly shows the long-term fate of the galaxy and the fate of our squadmembers and Normandy Crew.
I don't expect anything less than that. If BioWare thinks they can get away with less than what I just proposed, then BioWare is sadly mistaken. They need to do this properly and thoroughly, or else they'll lose a lot of respect from a lot of people.
Also, you have to realize that this horrible ending cannot be simply fixed with some extra content at the end of the game. In order to make sense of this ending, Mass Effect 3 SHOULD be completelyr revamped the same way as The Witcher 1 and 2 got revamped with the Enhanced Edition expansion.
